Hi guys,
I need to gift a phone to a friend. Budget is not very high so narrowed down the options to these 2:
1. Nokia X2-01.
2. Samsung Chat 322.

The phone has to be qwerty and hence selected these. Both cost around 3.5k. Confused which one to go for. The usage will be more of texting and facebook and occasional listening to music. The dual sim of samsung is not needed but then it has a better 1.3MP cam whereas the nokia comes with a VGA cam. I failed to see anyother difference between the 2 devices. Please advice as to which one to go for.

Anyother phone that I missed in this price range? I cannot spend more then 4k!

I know it is available online. But I need to have a see and feel option before I pick one up.

If its down to the Nokia and Samsung, the Nokia comes with a bigger screen which would be more useful while on Facebook. Other than that the Samsung is a good bet.

There is a Moto available, if you would consider that, Motorola Erin EX109 , comes with a 2MP Cam, but a 2.0" screen. Sells for around 3.5K approx.

finally i am in right place. Need some advice .

Pls suggest me a android phone with big screen ( 4.3" ) touch screen / fast processor / must have a GPS under budget of 20 k. don;t mind spending another +-2 K . in nutshell looking for a complete value for money phone.

Samsung Galaxy Ace : It has 800 MHz Processor, Wi-fi, GPS and the other jazz; it is about 13k.

HTC Wildfire S : 600 MHz processor and everything else; it is about 12k.

Assuming budget of 20K, would recommend the samsung galaxy s 9000 series models. there are many versions of this model, details of which can be checked at gsmarena. choose the one which fits your requirement.

We bought this one "Samsung Galaxy S LCD I9003". Although the display isn't latest and greatest it serves our purpose. It comes with 32gb support for external MicroSd, 5 MG camera, and 720p Video recording capabilities. Worked really well so far (6 months old)

Why dont you check Google Nexus S - You can get it for around 18K

have checked samsung pack, too many battery/touch screen problems IMO in Samsung. Even my DAD uses a Samsung and phone often goes to service center and stays there for good 7-10 days. Google nexus S looks good option but is it available in india?

how;s LG optimus P970 or HTC desire Pack. . any body using it .

Google Nexus S is available in India, and is available for close to 20k the only problem with that is its VGA Video recording and more important than that is its storage is limited to 16GB and cant be expended to 32 GB as in Galaxy's case. I have two Galaxy's and they are working wonderfully well. Also a good friend of mine bought Galaxy S2 and its just an amazing phone although priced at about 30K.

I am not sure if this is the right place but here goes; since about 2 weeks I am getting calls from +919676401893 regularly.

When I answer the call, the other end is silent; as if on mute. The call lasts exactly for 20 seconds each time.

I cannot call back as the call never connects; the no. seems like one of those numbers that are used for promotional purposes or call-centres and you can't call on those.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Create a group with some random name. Assign no ring tone / no ring / no alert for the group Save the number with some another random name, and add it to this group.

I am looking for a mobile phone for my little sister (she is in 8th standard right now). Personally I do not recommend phones for people still in school but the thing is - she has to travel to places for tuitions and sometimes when she gets late we kind of get worried. It would be good if she has a mobile phone so that we can contact her. Budget is around 5k-7k. Brands preferred - Nokia, Samsung, LG. Phone will be mainly used for calls, messages and a decent music player (FM function would be great). I am planning to buy from Croma as it is the nearest to my place. Pour in your suggestions guys!

It is out of stock in letsbuy and flipkart for weeks now and the local shops don't seem to have them.
