@ Abhinav

I am not directly suggesting any handsets as there are still too many options you haven't mentioned (e.g. Slider/Bar Style/Flip phone etc..).

Have a look here and enter your requirements: Phone Finder - search for a phone by feature - GSMArena.com

Quite helpful in seeing what's out there and coming soon.

Hi Anand,
Try Samsung wave. The features are good in it. But you may have to stretch your budget a couple of thousands. It has a good camear,Memory,GPS and good in browsing. Finally a touch screen.

Camera v/s Mobile Phone Camera : Best 5 MP camera phone

Hello Friends,

I am looking out for the best 'photo quality' 5 MP camera phone. Please help me understand the following.

1. Whats the major difference between digial camera (e.g Canon A series) v/s a mobile phone camera (e.g sony ericsson or nokia) of a same mega pixel.

2. Which is the best 5MP camera phone in the market not costing more than 15k

3. Whats special about carlzeiss lens which is used in a few nokia and sony phone.

4. Also i would prefer good quality photo in low lighting.

Thanks.

The main difference is the size of sensor. Its tiny in mobile phones.

In most cases a digital camera costing 5K produces better images than camera phone costing 15K.

Good quality photo in low lighting is hard even on digital cameras, so dont expect any good results from mobile phone cameras.

This exactly the topic I was looking for. I had a digicam which i use to carry, Because i often had to take pictures of patient's x rays. But the problem with a digicam was i needed to carry an extra gadget and I forget it when i needed it the most. Second problem was headache of charging an extra device. so i think a mobile with a good camera would solve both the problems. so I went ahead and bought SEc510, which is good enough for my needs. But now even I am looking for a better option. 5 mp mobile that i am considering are
nokia 6700 slide
SE hazel/elm
Samsung superb

Four new touchscreen Nokia smartphones this week

Nokia now has a new President and CEO.
He is Stephen Elop, a Canadian who used to be President of Microsoft’s Business Div.

Nokia World 2010 was recently held this week at the ExCeL exhibition centre, in London's Victoria Dock Area.

At the show Nokia unveiled four new smartphones with large touchscreens.
The new smartphones are:
a new version of the Nokia C6, Nokia C7, Nokia E7 and the much awaited flagship Nokia N8.

We hear they will be in shops by Diwali 2010, for between Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 23,000.

At the high profit-margin, top end of the smart phone market are Apple's iOS-based and Google's Android-based mobile phones. Will Nokia regain mindshare and value-share against them? That remains to be seen.

Of course, Nokia still controls a 40% majority of the global smartphone market.

There are hardly any camera's with Optical zoom and digital zoom sucks. if you want to take normal pics with object 4-5 meters you wont require optical zoom. Most of the camera have LED flash and lack red eye reduction (digital red eye (in some mobile cameras are a AI software and not actual optics(correct me if i am wrong)). so will affect the quality of pic at night time.

The HTC HD2 has a decent camera with led flash. Try it out and see what you think. Not sure how much it costs in India though.

QuickOffice for Nokia 5235

Just purchased Nokia 5235. Trully an affordable Smart phone with all possible features and a great web browsing experience with Symbian S60 Series 5th edition OS. Only glitch is not able to view MS Office documents(MS Word, PPT, .Doc) as well as PDF documents as against Nokia E63 which has a pre-installed QuickOffice App to view and edit docs.
Can somebody please suugest a solution for this problem.

Went to quickoffice.com & downloaded Quickoffice pro for free. A download link will be sent to your mail id. Use your mobile browser to access the download link directly instead of saving the file on your desktop & then xferring from PC to mobile.
