Yeah! Just unlocked the Jack which I have ordered online and put my sister's shipping address to reduce the shipping costs and she I could lay my hands on it on 13th and unlocked today FREE OF COST thanks to the howardforums. com!!!

Moving from a candy bar phone to the QWERTY phone..... I hope the transition is smooth!! But this phone has some trouble thanks to windows(no matter how much I hate it, it comes back to me, the windows!!). Has slowing down issues just like a PC after some usage!! Also this phone is a finger print magnet, its not just the screen but the entire phone gets those finger prints and the phone is a bit slippery. I have to now buy a good screen guard and good cover. Till then I am shelving the phone!!

i own a Samsung OmniaPRO B7320. I have activated Vodafone Live and Vodafone Mobile Connect.

I am able to download Y! emails using the Email Wizard under messages with the following Incoming / Outgoing Servers - pop.mail.yahoo.com & smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

Now, when i am trying get the emails using Office Outlook in my phone - it is getting stuck / not connecting to the server. Any idea why it is not connecting? Auto discovery is not working.

Exchange server / OWA server address: ??

But, i am able to download the emails using Active Sync (using PC) - but not OTA.

Do you guys have the settings? Thanks in advance.

A peculiar problem with Nokia E71x

My friend has a Nokia E71x. He used it for 3 months in India without any problems and was using it for a year before in USA.

Yesterday when he arrived here and started E71x, it keeps restarting every minute or so. That happened after inserting his att sim.

When i inserted mine, it also restarts but not as frequently as his does.

Any suggestions?

This might be a software/configuration issue. As with all things software, one sure way to check is to format the device .

Take a backup of contacts etc and fomat the phone. It might fix the issue. Steps are:

1. Switch off your Nokia phone
2. Now Press following key sequence *#7370#
3. Enter Default lock code is 12345.
4. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
5. Wait for message ‘Formatting’ to appear on the screen and release all keys once you see that message.

I got the latest firmware for the Nokia E72. What are the good and bad things, I can expect?

Hope the initial bugs like space bar freezing, hanging when alarm goes off etc is rectified. What can I expect from the Ovi maps, says navigation is free for life. Does it work as claimed?

The v31.023 is pretty stable. OVI maps is functional - will take you from A to B most of the times, but then, it might ask you to take a road that is a one-way in the opposite direction at times. But for a country like ours where there is always someone in the vicinity, asking for directions just to reaffirm what OVI says is the best bet.

A relative wants to go for a high end smartphone, but isnt very informed on the new models. She can spend 25-28K for it. What she basically needs is pratically an iphone alternative. Looking for all in one device, which is good as cam, media player, phone, email/social networking etc

Can I suggest the HTC desire? Seems to be very nicely built and the interface also seems to be similar to the iPhone. She doesnt like the Samsung Galaxy S. How is the battery life on these phones?

@mail4jo... Why not go for the real deal, the iPhone 3GS which will fall under her budget? If not the iphone I would recommend the Samsung Wave.

Galaxy S is a better option but if there is some personal opinion then samsung wave is the one, looking for nokia, N900 could be a option as well.

@mail4ajo, if she don't want Samsung Galaxy S then go for the Desire eyes closed, much better in every aspect than an iPhone 3GS. Battery life will be as good (or bad) as any smartphones in the market. One thing I've noticed that initial 1 or 2 weeks the battery life is pretty bad and after few recharges the battery starts performing much better. But still you'll need to have a charger handy. Normally you'll need to recharge almost every alternate day or everyday for heavy usage.

I spent some time(20-25 mins) with Xperia X10 today and i was impressed. Its a very good phone. All the requirements are fulfilled like the cam, media player, email, social networking and as a phone too. I particularly liked the Timescape mode.

If not for the 'high court' order, i would have got the x10 instead of i4. You may give it a shot. Highly recommendable.
