Guys need your inputs on an issue faced with my n72. My phone simply hung last week and no matter how much i try , it just boots up displaying the main screen, but then after that nothing else works. When i make a call to the phone, it doesnt ring either. What could be the problem here and how do i rectify it ? Could this be an issue with software? Anyone else face this issue ?

Will i receive mails on GPRS or edge if i activate this? How do i configure my N97 to receive mail. Do i need to configure sync mail? Currently i just use wifi to sync my mailbox.

Not too familiar with sync mail. I have my gmail, yahoo accounts configured in my E71 and when i use 'connect to mailbox' it syncs the mail box.

Yep, due to some system problem at Idea my phone is out of network since yesterday morning. Though it was supposed to get fixed in 24hrs, It hasnt.

Out of curiosity I tried to access web through GPRS & voila it works. It shows full signal strength but as soon as I disconnect its again without network.

Anybody got a clue

Which phone is that? I presume you mean the signal strength indicator of the phone is showing no bars? Did you try making a call?

Yes DA, I tried making calls, there is no network, I tried changing handsets & same result i.e. the problem is with sim & not handset.

Showed to Idea service centers & when they contacted the technical center, they said that there is some system problem & a set of numbers are facing this issue.

What is surprising to me is that GPRS still works & shows full strength when using it. once I disconnect the bars go away.

can anybody let me know what the issue could be here?

Idea has no idea? Quite likely the set of numbers that they are talking about got screwed up in provisioning in their system. You now have only Data Services provisioned to you, and funnily no voice services. So every time you log on, Idea does not route the voice-related packets. Voice and data provisioning are separate.

No 3G, GPS & Wifi; tad smaller screen.Rest is the same. Also check 5230. I use 5800, happy for the last 4 days

5530 has Wifi but doesn't have 3G & GPS. Has a 3.2 mp camera with autofocus & LED flash. Cost is 11,500 with a 4gb card in the box.
