I have to take the battery and memory-card out and insert them again many times to make it work. Not sure if it is just my handset or others facing this. So now whenever I want to switch off, I put it in offline mode.

I think 5233 does NOT have GPS nor A-GPS.
One thing that causes this issue it file system corruption on data card.

To test it, remove data card from cell and attach it to a PC. Run a check on the card. If there is any issue, take a backup, format the card and restore the backup.

the SE of course seems much better but i think the contrast/brightness of the screen in the nokia is set too high.

Even if the brightness is fine Satio is costlier than 5800

I used a 5800 for 10 days, was so fed up with its slow interface and bad display resolution, i decided to give it back. I did give it benefit of doubt as i was coming off an iphone which has excellent interface, but still couldn't get adjusted to 5800. So i went back this time to iphone 3gs.

Looking at the compare, Satio looks very good, its screen is very good and is slimmer compared to 5800. and having a sony ericsson c905a i have no questions about its image quality. while 5800's image quality in simple term is horrible.

just my 2 cents.

Please elaborate on the issues you faced. What is memory leakage and what SD card size were you using?

Hey Ajo - long times

The memory leakage is not the storage memory - rather, like issues in the way the OS handles RAM - See Memory leak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Picked up Nokia E72 yesterday. So far so good. Have loaded it with loads of applications without any signs of hanging/restarting.

Regarding the Firmware upgrade, mine is v 21.024. Did try to update through NSU as well as OTA but of no avail. Guess the latest firmware is specific to certain countries.

New Airtel GPRS plans

Airtel has revamped its GPRS plans. starts with 99, 199 and 299.
Not sure of the 99. But 199 plan gives you 1GB limt. This I guess is decent for the pricing.

Airtel website says that free usage upto 2 GB is available for a monthly rental of Rs.98 after which the charges will be 30p/50kb. Looks like this is applicable in all circles.

You are right. The later version of the software is yet to be released for Indian E72s.

I just opened my E72 - got it for 18,900 with 1 years theft / damage insurance, a Philips Headphone, a glass Photo frame and a screen guard. I was offered a free SIM, but I already have 3 SIMs, so declined

Guys

This is more of a technical query than the buying a mobile phone.

I need to buy a mobile which supports AT command though serial interface. All new phones we get are having USB interface.
You guys are aware of any old mobile phone which support the AT command?
