Though not very technically minded, I am aware about all those variants.

But still it was a surprise as I was handling a GPS enabled phone for the first time.

If its has AGPS it will lock fast, thats what i understand. First cell traingulation then gps takes over for final lock.

Thanks for prompt response.

Is this a wise option then? Its showing on nokia.co.in site but dont know whats the price for the same.

Nokia Charger via USB port CA-100
I believe the CA-100 will only work as a data cable when connected to the E71.
I sold my E71 some time ago and don't have one to check with right now, maybe a current E71 owner can try it out and report back?

After much deliberation I got myself a HTC HD2. Haven't used any Windows Mobile or a touch screen before and hence can't comment on the performance. But overall the phone is quite fast. Though user interface is good, it falls short of iPhone in tilt operations. Otherwise its good.

I am looking for a case (like ToughGuard Shell) and a screen protector. Any place in Bangalore for these?

Double standards, I say.
Yeah, to be honest, I was surprised myself. Happy with the decision, even though I haven't used most of the add-on features.

IMHO, Nokia 5800 would have been a good buy at 14K.
I needed a formal looking phone. The 5800 with all that "xpress music" branding and red colours didn't really make the cut.

Someday, sometime

Anyone here use a dual sim phone? Please don't suggest Chinese made ones. I hear Karbon is a good make. It is actually made in India. This would be for my dad. Karbon has models that support CDMA and GSM on the same phone. These are priced over Rs 5000. Their basic models (only GSM) start in at the price of Rs. 1800.

Any other suggestions? Does Samsung, Nokia, Sony Ericcson, etc have such models?

Karbonn is a good make, even videocon has come up with dual sim mobiles. Samsung has one model which has dual sim, but it is priced almost near 10000 and looks like a box.I have used this samsung model and it is ok if you not going for stylish design.

My colleague has a Karbonn; the lastest one with touch. Takes two SIM, works well, is loud and in general, great mobile for 4500Rs !

Have you looked at Micromax? They should be available at regular mobile stores.

+1

and it works just fine. Looks a bit tacky (Ain't no Nokia) but is quite snappy.

Haven't explored it in detail but at its price it is amazing VFM.

Damn this had to happen today

I received 2 Sms in the afternoon, tried opening them but it wont. Restarted the phone(Nokia N72) a couple of times with no effect. After the last restart all the messages are gone except for delivery receipts(which was also the only accessible area when it hanged).

Double whamy is that now along with SMSs all the data like MP3s, installed applications, photos etc etc are gone too.

When I check memory on card it still shows filled as before so may be the data is still on card???

Luckily I had taken backup on last weekend but that wont help with applications that I had installed like google maps, opera mini(with the bookmarks)

Any idea what may have triggered it or is there a way to find if this is a one off issue or something that I need to get checked?

Nokia 5230 is out and its amazing value for money. iPOD beating audio quality with standard 3.5 mm jack, GPS, 3G, 2 MP Cam with VGA video recording, 3.2 inch 640 X 360 resolution touchscreen... basically 5800 XM minus 3.2 MP cam and Wifi... and all this for 8500 brand new!!!!! Beat that samsung!
