broke my charger port for N85. researched on net and many have complained about it. Wondering why nokia has given such a fragile port for charging.

planning to get an external charger and a spare battery. so now on recharging means just replacing batteries for me.

Thats what i did when last year my phone decided to take a dip in water and swim for 5 mtrs . External charging works pretty well. My original Nokia battery is still working fine after 4 years.

Though i got phone fixed after the charging IC was available. Now i have 2 batteries...

I am getting Nokia 3120 classic (Launched 2008 Q2 or so) fro Rs 5200/- today.
Is that a good deal? This is one model which has 3G and is still this cheap.

I don't want to have any latest model and pay that price premium, but to have an economic model with a basic cam, BT, 3G, EDGE etc.

I've owned an N95 8GB for a year and a half. I upgraded from an N73 primarily for the GPS -- which works well, even if it can be a little slow at times. Build quality is fairly good, though I can't say the same about the keypad -- two of the (black) number keys have worn off and white patches are showing through. The silver surface of the scroll and surrounding buttons started peeling in just 3-4 months and now they've been completely denuded. The exposed keys are a wonderful medley of colours (blue, green, red, white) but I prefer a certain sobriety in my phone. The rubber-like coating on the back is also showing signs of peeling, but thankfully it's not too obvious. I'm a careful user but I browse the Net a lot. This could explain the keypad wear-and-tear, but I expected better from a phone that cost me close to 30K. I'm thinking of "downgrading" to an E71 because it seems more durable and businesslike. I don't need a 5MP camera or music capabilities anyway.

+1 to that. I've had mine for 3 yrs now and I have yet to be motivated enough to splash out $$$ to upgrade to another phone. I was thinking of some HTC WinMo, but now the latest android stuff looks too tempting

I also have same phone for just under 3yrs and even i cant think of discarding it over some other phone.
My son has thrown it many times but it still is working fine with no issue whatsoever.
