How to password protect memory cards

Guys, I would like to know is there any way to protect our memory card access in phone. In case we lost the phone, atleast we can secure our data somehow. Does anyone know something?

The nokia india website does not show a newer firmware! Any ideas?
Whats your firmware version? (check with *#0000#). I have
100.21.110
14-11-2008
RM-437
Nokia E63-1 (27)

Its perfectly fine with me (Touch wood). I use it extensively. I have not installed any major applications & use it mostly for calls & internet access (wifi - chat).

Try getting this version on your phone & try it out once.

I had a E63 too, there was no "HANGING" problem. This problem occurs due to memory being full because multiple applications running at the same time. Configuring email wasn't difficult either. E63 is a great phone.

@Null:
I have exactly the same firmware and it crashes like no one's business - its a daily business now. I have everything installed from Garmin to Gmail to Nimbuzz/EBuddy etc besides having configured MailForExchange (Email/Cal sync)

It does not have a clean ultra light theme. It esp hangs when its out of memory while a call is incoming typically in the middle of multiple internet access (ebuddy, gmail, MFE at once etc).

I am now contemplating reflashing it with the latest firmware available across any global one. What say folks? Something like the UK/USA one maybe?

PS: The impending doom is signaled by the phone missing keystrokes when i type an sms/email. bloody irritating

Updated to the latest firmware Atleast it isnt crashing! but, now GPRS is gone.

The damn thing is unable to use GPRS (Mobile Office) after reflashing with the latest software. Airtel boys say all is okay on their site.

You are overloading it. Flashing wont help.

If too many software run in background, it will drain memory / cpu and will make phone unstable. Specially when incoming call tries to preempt others.

My friend is looking for 3 budget mobile phones (budget max 5000 per piece) for business purpose. Required features are Camera, MP3 player and should be easy to use. He prefers phones from Nokia/Sony Ericsson. Could you please suggest some phones in this range?

LOL..Even I asked him the same question, he is in to Machine tool business and these phones are for his employees (field engineers). He thought employees may not appreciate if the mobile phone does have these two features :-), you hardly see mobiles without these two features nowadays. Also cam may help sometime to take pics of machines when they go for field work.

Ask Airtel to send the Settings file once again - maybe as an SMS. Usually Airtel sends a configuration packet automatically depending on the phone, or sends and SMS saying "Please contact 12111 for settings since your phone cannot be configured automatically" or something like that.

Is the phone at least showing E(dge) in the status bar? Or is only that you are not able to browse?

Update:
The new firmware is stable and responsiveness has incrased manifold. I am still overloading it (heck my 166 mhz pcs were faster!)

The problem was that my "settings" from the 100.xx firmware, when restored, rendered the WLAN/GPRS inoperable. Even creating new profiles/getting settings via SMS doesn't work then!

So, I reflashed it - then created it all from scratch and it works just fine.

I'm looking for a mobile phone within a 5k budget. Main reason is to have bluetooth to use it on the Blue & me system on my Punto. Any suggestions ? Priorities are good battery life and ruggedness. Camera/FM will be good to have features.

How's the feedback on the Nokia 2700 ?

LG GT505 - The GPS with Wisepilot works very well. The phone is great however the 5MP camera i feel is good only to take pics of still objects. When i try to take a pic of my son (11months), what i see on the screen when i click the button is different than what is captured. Its captures a few seconds later with a blur.
