Nokia 6270 and sharp 903 have stereo speakers built in the phone. Sonyericsson k750i has a single speaker built in.

about the speakers WHile sonyericsson is one of the best in single speaker phones nothin much separates sharp 903 and nokia 6270. WHile I have heard many people complain about the low sound in stereo speaker configs my e680i is loud enough for me.

Have Nokia done away with the Symbian series 60 Operating system for the new 6270 and 6280 smartphones?

Then what happens to the Symbian applications like Pocket Word, Pocket Excel and the Adobe Acrobat reader and Lonely-Cat's SmartMovie software?

In this age of increasing compatibility and interoperability, Why would they go the incompatible way? And more importantly, why should the new 6270/6280 phones sell well in a huge tech-aware market like metropolitan India?

s60 still exists. 6270 and 6280 are not smart phones. they are s40 phones with bigger screens. the new s60 range will be out in the form of N80 an all whenever they are out this year. will all have 3 mp cams and stuff.

NO nokia has not done away with symbian. Nokia 6270 and 6280 are running on properietary nokia OS called Series 40.

The symbian appilications still work on the current symbian phones and the upcoming ones which are much more improved and as good as windows mobile OS.

Nokia cannot only be the leader by selling symbian phones. Even today majority of the market uses non-smartphones. hence nokia has introduced nokia 6270/6280.

And I can vouch that if performance from the feature rich 6270/6280 is good then they will be huge sellers like nokia 6230i

So if i talk for 4 hours a day on the phone, send 10 messages and listen to music for 30min will the battery last for 1 day

Yup.
the 4hrs talk did all the damage.

I can drain my 'mini' in 4 hrs by playing just games. (ones with 100% processor usage)

4hours a day

well yes if listening to music is not a priority then sonyericsso k750i will last a day under those circumstances. play with display settings a bit and you can extract more juice from the battery.

my e680i lasts a day with 2hours music, 1hour radio, 30mins talking and using organizer.
