Basically, the earpiece on the phone has some kind of loose-contact or something as the audio sometimes doesn't come thru and you have to press the earpiece area a certain way for it to start working again.

Also, the last couple of weeks, the screen gets all garbled every couple of hours or so. Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems.

Also, what apps do you use on your S60 touch (N97 owners can answer this as well)? where do you get your apps for the phone from? I've been using the Ovi Store for the most part but its a pain to navigate on the phone. Any other suggestions for getting apps?
i also faced similar issues with initial software, but after the S/W update its working fine.I also got my ear piece changed under warranty .
S/W updare can be done online by connecting to a laptop or using wap or wifi

the ear peice thing i read somewhr is a humidity issue, you should get it changed in warranty! And most of the other issues should fix up by a firmware upgrade

I'll be going to get my earpiece fixed soon as it is still within warranty. The screen problem worries me though because I've always updated to the latest firmware within a week of it coming out. I think the one I have right now is 21.something so I'm guessing it is a hardware problem. Will probably get it checked out when I go for the earpiece.

Last thing, what kind of battery life are people getting on the 5800?

try the new motorola motomagx smartphones. It is a part of the biggest group of linux mobile makers called LIMO.

Also they have fast cpu's (minus U9 which needs to be overclocked) and SDHC capacity for cards upto 32gb.

The code was recently made open by motorola.

I am using a U9 with a modded Firmware (monsterpack or MP) with MGX (motomagx) applications.

It's cheap and reliable. My father uses a Z6 and hasnt had to complain a bit.

It's miles ahead in usability compared to the old p2K phones. (v3, v3i etc)

PS: The U9 already uses a micro-usb connector which is the new standard for all mobile phones to be made by the top manufacturers including Apple.

I got the z6 about 2 years ago for 11K with 2gb card and Stereo bluetooth headset. Should be about 7-8K now.

The U9 I got for $0 under contract here but should be 6-7K in India.

Other phones on the same platform are E8/EM30(Excellent), ZN5 (Awesome) and RAZR2 V9 (good).

Ebay has a listing for 12,490 for the E63. I'm also looking at buying this phone...any user experiences?

eBay India: BRAND NEW NOKIA E63 SMART PHONE WITH BILL & WARRANTY (item 350224509787 end time 09-Aug-2009 18:22:06 IST)

Plus of course the standard 5% ebay discount coupon which everyone has. But I think there's a 500 rupee limit on the discount. So it would be roundabout 12k INR for this phone.

I am upgrading my cell phone from the very basic to Nokia 5800 express music. I wanted to have cell phone with GPS and touch screen, this cell has both of it. Does anybody tried using GPS of this cell phone in a CAR ? I am not bothered about the camera quality but net surfing for sure. Can anybody provide the feedback.

@ Pawan : 5800 is certainly a very good buy if you are looking for GPS and a good internet experiance. I've been using 5800 for internet ( mostly ) for close to 6 months now, and it works like a charm.

The Native browser is very good and supports all the websites same as you'd see them on your PC ( Including the FLASH content , which makes the media experiance very rich) I do use the Opera browser but that only for RSS feeds updates.

I used the GPS navigation for the first three months in my car and it works fine. It really helps to have a Big display and a touchscreen while you are navigating in your car. ( Navigation is much more faster which you can just simply click on the desirable object on the screen)

Hope this helps.
