ps:for me resale is of an importance too,so i am not that keen on philips, siemens etc.
Nokia E70 must be out in around march. Approx price will be around 25k-30k depending on the competition and pricing.

you are keen on a good resale. In India nothin will get you resale close to Nokia. Forget every other model than nokia.

from your shortlist within 10k nokia 6630 and 3230 are the best bet. 6630 is compact while 3230 is big. Both run the same OS and have same spces. Decide on which you find better looking.

for 16k budget again as I said, stick to nokia for better resale. Razr serier is not really tough. from nokia 6680 and 6681 go for 6681 as you wouldnt really be using the video calling on 6680. Nokia 6270 is another good non smartphone and stylish too. It should be either nokia 6270 if you want non-smartphone that looks good or 6681 if you want a smartphone

Me: O2 Atom or Nokia E70 or N80. does the N80 have a keypad?

Not sure when 6233, 6234 will be available. They are candybar and lightweight as you want. But dont expect the camera to be excellent. It will be good at best with no extra photo settings.

N80 is a slider with a regular number pad. It looks the 3mp camera is luring you . This one also has p2pn telephony.

All three phones for you are equally good. Now it depends on which kinda phone you like. A pda phone? A blackberry messaging phone? or a slder smartphone?

A smartphone is a mobile phone with generic OS like palm, windows,Symbian and linux. It allows Users to play with the OS and customize its usage with third party applications due to open plaform.

A non-smartphone is a phone with proprietary Company OS developed by the company specially for a phone. The interface is closed and so no extra tweaking is possible and no third party applications can be installed bar Java.

A pdaphone is again a part of smartphones but with better PDa capabilities and a touchscreen. (Atleast that's how it's distinguished)

SOme pdaphones are p910i,xda2i,xda atom, treo650, E680i, A780

Some smartphones are 6600,6630,7650,7610,9300,9500,mpx220,A910, qtek 8310

some non-smartphones are sharp 903, sonyericsson t630, nokia 6230

what you will lose in a non-smartphone are Tons of third party applications and ease of customisation. A smartphone is for a geek who likes to tweak his/her phone.

Otherwise nothing much different.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/B...n&categoryid=8

These are all the additional applications for windows smartphones and pda's.

Such applications cannot be installed on a proprietary OS phone.

By tweaking I mean overclocking the CPU, increasing memory(not flash), Cracked Firmware updates etc. I had a siemens sx1 S60 OS6.1.

Symbian OS6.1 doesnt supports themes but Some programmers cracked it and I could use nokia 6600 themes on my phone.

Nokia has also got many open end applications programmed by third party manufacturers for Series 40. You wont be able to install them on sharp 903. But you will be able to use all the Java programs on the phone.

Scoop
Benq-siemens just announced a camera phone and a music phone to be launched in march.

You mean to say that the 6233/6234 camera wont be as good as the Philips 960, Samsung D600 or Nokia 6280? Actually I am tempted to wait for the 5MP P9860 from Samsung. I dont see a difference between 2MP and 3MP but there should be a difference between 2MP and 5MP!

Of the 3 currently available phones 960/D600/6280 listed above which has the best camera?

For myself I really need a PDA phone. I leave my PDA everywhere and am lucky not to have lost it by now. The O2 Atom looks tempting. I am practising talking into my T5 - ugh! My fear is that the O2 Atom is so big I will leave it behind and then I will no PDA or phone!

The E70 qwerty keypad is awful for email but ok for SMS on the other hand the N80 has no keypad at all but atleast it looks like and will feel like a regular phone.

Really wish that
a) the N80 had a PDA
b) the E70 had a regular keypad
c) the O2 was smaller esp in width.

Decisions Desicions!
