@slk- I have a diamond which runs on 6.1. Contact manager is available through both programs and through the contacts menu. They haven't removed it.
@Digitalv- What phone is this ?
Let's work step by step, after you manage to copy the contacts, and have multiple entries I'll definitely help you out. No worries.
Try looking for something along the lines of SIM Manager like sim contacts, other contacts, sim memory etc. There has to be an option in the contact menu, every single phone has it.

While I have no reason behind my theory it doesn't seem like a defect. If you've noticed htc has an E even when there's no actual connection settings.
When I put my vodafone sim even without manually providing connection settings as has to be done it showed an E

Its an ASUS P527 with WinMo 6.1 pre-loaded.

I've searched 99.9% of all the menus on this phone, even totally unrelated ones. I'm so surprised that such a basic feature goes missing...

Attached are the screenshots of the contacts menu. Nothing related in the sub-menus either

Does anyone think its worth re-installing the OS. Its brand new and not fiddled with much other than to search for this stupid SIM manager and installation of Navigation software (MMI & Satguide).

Nokia E63 issues?

I am planning to go for the Black Nokia E63 now. Want to hear from the regular users of E63 about the problems / irritations they face.

My requirements (order)
1. GSM Calls & Texting
2. Wifi for skype calls
3. Check stock quotes (gprs)
4. emails now n then

Going for E63 mainly because it is one of the full fledged phones with WIFI at a lower price.

Want to hear the generic & specific problems faced. Pl. help.

Ok i have got screen shot of the phenomenon where the network shifts between the EDGE and GPRS service, when the signal strength is weak. Chanced upon during my weekend travel and thankfully my stay was in a black spot area. Have got screen shot with google map tower location to show its the same tower

I tried everything possible and none of the in-built settings worked.

Finally got a copy of HTC Sim Manager and that did the trick. I could have done this earlier with SLK's suggestion, but didn't want to install any 3rd party SW unless absolutely needed.

Guys...I need suggestions on purchasing a few phones for my project. The following are the requirements.

# Must support Bluetooth, Java (MIDP 2.0, JSR 82, JSR 75...)
# Should have expandable memory (Min 1 Gig)

Which is the cheapest phone (any manufacturer) available for this purpose?

&

Which is the cheapest S60 phone supporting the above requirements?.

I don't care about camera, MP3, screen size, voice/audio quality, battery backup, aesthetics...Just need the cheapest phones matching the above requirements.

^ Asus P527.

I use it.
It has all the features you have mentioned.
Search this thread for more info on the phone.
Also there is a thread dedicated to this phone on the forum.

+1 to that. P527 is a great VFM product. Now comes with Satguide All-India maps, Car holder, Car charger...Purchased from Croma @ 12,500. Possible cheaper with smaller dealers/grey market.

Also checkout the more stylish but cheaper Asus P320. Almost same hardware specs as P527, but no number pad and 1100 mAH vs 1300mAH battery (P527).

Note: Both phones above comes with slow 200Mhz processors when compared to the competition which would be dearer by another 5K. I haven't felt much lag on this phone in comparison to my friends HTC Touch diamond though.
