Bought a new phone, Samsung Pixon. I wanted to try out a brand I hadn't used, its got decent touch interface, nice camera and music features, good build but poor battery life as of now. Major problem though is its neither Windows, nor Symbian, so modding is out of question. However, a good phone for the price, costed Rs. 23,000/-.

that is an unbelievable price!

just ensure it is a fresh/unused handset with warranty and bill because it's retail price minus all schemes and etc is still 14+

1--User Friendly
2--Decent battery life
3--Durable and long life of the product(atleast 3 years)
4--Trouble free from bugs etc.Easy connectivity to PC.
5--Hassle free Availablity of spare battery, acessories (charger) etc at nominal prices.
So considering these factors and the fact that i have never owned a LG mobile, can anyone please guide me if i can go ahead with my purchase ofthe mobile.

thanks
Go for it , it is a very popular handset worldwide , LG sold more 2 million pieces of this already.

Basically the old Touch was a premium handset. As it got older it turned out to be good vfm touch screen phone. It had excellent soft touch plastics, a hard glass screen and was perfect in size. To reduce costs further and make it more affordable they launched the Touch viva.
thats true and to reduce costs even further they removed the pouch and the memory card as well :(

Depends what radio rom you are runing. some I have tried ca zap the battery in less than a day. Another used to last 3/4 days but initial GPS lockon was poor.

So its a case of experimenting.

The new E75.. costs ~4-5k more i guess.

BTW, i got a N78 about 6-7months back when it was launched and it does not have the FM transmitter. But then my friend's N78 bought in Dec08 has it. So is there any way i can get it in my phone as well?? Will a firmware update work?

E71 has abominable GPS performance. Over 2 min in open balcony, no fix nothing. Junk GPS. Buy a BT GPS or buy the ASUS phones anyday (from what i've heard).
