I havent heard of the non camera one yet. As Nishant mentioned its better to go for a fully loaded E51 around 10k. Also if you need a smart phone i think E 63 should be a good option for your budget.

A query for the cellphone experts here.

How much better is the 3MP cam in a Nokia phone than their 2MP cam ?
Nokia phones with 2MP cam are available around 6-7K, while the 3MP N73-M is priced
around double that at 13K. So am confused whether it is worth paying that much premium for another 1MP of resolution.

My expectation from the cam is basic photos, which can be printed maxi without pixelisation. Is this possible with a 2MP phone ?

P.S. : I usually use only a basic Motorola phone - just to make/receive calls. For taking snaps, I carry around a compact Fujicam. But since the cam conked out, I was thinking of clubbing phone and cam together and thus the idea of getting a camera-phone.

I asked for a friend who's office does NOT allow camera phones inside the premises. Well, neither does mine. What else can I say? Does E63 have a camera? Price?

Even a 5mp camera phone is not close in quality to a 3.2 mp digital camera. But if you really want a 3mp camera phone. better buy a Sonyericsson. I had a motorola Z6 which had an excellent but basic 2mp camera. But to print I would recommend a 3.2mp camera K790 from sonyericsson which is available for about 10 grands if I remember corectly.

There are other things like Flash, autofocus that play a role here.

One way of comparison would be to hit Cell phone review sites and get sample images shot from 2 MP cell phones as well as 3 MP ones.


Print both and see for yourself if difference is worth.

I think SE has stopped producing K790i, may be available if in stock. You may also consider the SE K810i which comes with a secondary VGA cam for video calling (just in case ), and is priced around 10.3K.

Is it possible to get 3rd party camera s/w for E71. it nokia cam seems to love snapping at high ISO is programmed to do only that. no ISO field on the EXIF data though neither is there control over ISO under camera settings.

I am looking for a premium hard leather case for my Nokia E51. The OE case has reached its life. Was very durable and protects the phone from some hard crashes. Issue is its starting peeling its skin. I have prolonged its life using different methods, I am not able to source a compact premium case. Please let me know if you have any suggestions
