Everything seems to work like its supposed to work till now. Fm volume is definetly louder, not that i listen to fm much but i couldnt have lived with a faulty peice after paying for a brand new phone. Hope i am not speaking too soon. I also thought of selling it off but don't see any other smartphone offering so much at this price.
N79 a clone of the n82 is about to be released soon, hopefully that one irons out all the niggles of the N82. It still is does not have the Xenon flash and the 3d accelerometer that the N82 has.

Used HTC Touch - How much?

Hi,

Someone is offering me a 2 week old HTC Touch P3450 for 11K. Is this a good price?

I am not looking for something in the league of HTC diamond or iPhone. Is this a good model?

Thanks
Nirmal

@nirmalts
please check if its the HTC P3450 or P4350 as there is no model by the number P3450
The P4350 is not a Touch Model Per Se, its stylus based... finger scrolling is cumbersome. its not Touchflo like the touch models
It has ROM: 128 MB & RAM: 64 MB DDR SDRAM
The Processor is a TI OMAP 850, 200 Mhz processor (The Tytn II released in June-July 2007 has a Qualcomm MSM7200 400MHz processor)
no 3G (does'nt matter for now), usb is 1.1 not 2.0
it came in the market i think in october or november 2006 (not sure) so its not very new.

as brands other than nokia have a lower resale value, try to bargain to around 10k's.

After leaving the plan of an expensive indian launch of i-phone, I decided to buy Blackberry Pearl. The only wi-fi enabled pearl model is 8120 as informations available to me. I went to mobilestore new BEL road after some confirmations on phone, but they claim this model is outdated and no more production. How reliable is this info ? Are they playing games ? My doubt is how can blackberry stop producing the only pearl series with wi-fi. If anyone can throw some light on this, its greatly appreciated !

PS: My present phone is Nokia E62 since 1 year.

E71 should be a good upgrade, it has WIFI, GPS and all the other bells and whistles. Moving your contacts, notes, calender entries, files etc should be a a lot easier.

I got my first blackberry in life, thats a Pearl 8120, the only pearl model with wi-fi. Who is my inspiration from team-bhp ? No doubt, the great Yeti !! But I didnt trouble him asking about what model he uses or how many blackberries he already lost so far in his career !

Its a great phone with all business features and a 2 MP camera just for the sake of having one. Will give more details as I get into more familiarity. I know a blackberry is not complete without subcribing to the actual blackberry services provided in India by Airtel and Vodafone. Presently scanning through different tarriffs and plans that are offered by airtel.

Microsoft ActiveSync compatibility

The server in my office is getting upgraded. The new one will be compatible with microsoft activesync. I Know that most windows mobile phones are compatible with this. In addition some mainstream phones also work with this.

Currently I'm using a Sony Ericsson W950i, which I'm quite happy with. I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be configured to work with ActiveSync? If not, can people recommend a decent compatible hanset under 15k, preferably not a windows mobile. The other feature I would like is a touch screen + keyboard combo. My current phone has this and has spoilt me a bit....

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide.

Alright the battery problems on my N82 have just gone worse. From past 3 days, as soon as it hits the last three bars on battery meter, within 10 mins it shows Battery Low!!! For those 10 mins I did nothing.
Its 5 months old. Yesterday same thing happened, but after getting the first Battery Low signal it lasted for 13 hrs and was still on. Obviously I didnt make any calls but some 5-odd sms.

Should I get the battery replaced as its under B&W?

hmmm very strange F50, do you use a task manager? if yes then try and check all unescessary apps are on. The Contacts, Camera, Gallery, Carasoul are some of the persistant apps. If you switch them on they stay on even if you exit the program. Camera could be a battery hog.

here is one of the good ones Jbak Taskman

My n82 lasts for minimum of 1 day with full usage.

Yes, most of the time application like Contacts and Log are running. So I just select and exit them. This weird thing has never happened before. Its just happening from past 3 days.

My phone lasts for a one and half day if I only sms (30 odd) and 4-5 hrs of talking.
And 1 day, if the above plus music and games.

@F50, Make sure you set the show WIFI avialibility to "Never" otherwise the it keeps checking for an available connection every 5 mins or so.
