you are talking about the watch phone? right??
a friend bought one from down under and i found
it too big for a watch and too small and fiddly to be
a replacement for a regular cell phone.
its great if you are biker or use it as a mp3 player though..
otherwise ignore..
cheers

check out the Vodafone website for your cell phone compatibiltiy with this service. Its called Vodaphone Mobile Connect.
If your device is part of the compatible devices (I have found their list doesnt include all devices), or contact them for compatibility question and get the confirmation that GPRS/EDGE on your device should work Vodafone Mobile Connect.

there would be simple settings specifying an access point once its active and you should be able to browse internet using your cell phone, your phone should have a browser that supports http browsing..

I dont find it much interesting because notebook is always great for browsing (this can come handy only in some emergency situations)..

I read that MTNL will be starting 3G services by end of this year.

MTNL/BSNL can start 3G without going through auction process, so they will be first to launch it. (though they have to match the prices paid by wining bidders).

MTNL 3G - Google News

Only comparable wireless option is WiMax at present. Though you will have to spend your own money on getting "mobile" CPE.

ah! it would be difficult to change the provider (and ofcourse your cell number) just to get the 3G services.. Hopefully other GSM players should also get the soon..

Just to qualify my earlier statement, E51 is probably the best Nokia phone I have owned in the last ~9 years in terms of reception. The network signal bars are at full even in a moving elevator. That to me is a wonderful thing, as my previous 2 E series phone (E50 and E61i) never managed to retain network in lifts.
