The E90 version works well on the E51. I have not used Blackberry services, so really can't comment on the differences, just google and you may be able to find more info. Mail for exchange is a native client, so works pretty smooth.

BTW, if you are a heavy email user, I would not advise a E51. It's painful to type with the small keys. E61i would be a better investment.

Cheers!!!

How much e-mail will you read / send ? Is it for corporate or personal purposes ? Several/ most corporates will not support any device other than a Blackberry device and will not fwd e-mail due to security/ encryption reason, i would suggest if this is for corporate purposes check your company policy first,

Corporate email is lotus, about 15-25 emails with attachments, personal with 3 accounts about 5-8 emails in total. I will using it more only when I am travelling or just see the subject and reply if urgent.

Since both the shortlisted phones can accept blackberry services, should corporate email forwarding be an issue? I also have a webmail service for my lotus notes. Is the blackberry device like the curve which my boss uses a must?

Iphone Help !! Not able to sync ringtones

Hi All,

I am not able to sync ringtones (not purchaased) ones on my Apple Iphone.
I have searched and tried everything suggested in some threads on apple website.
This is what I did:
1.Set the start stop time and made sure that it is below 30 secs.
2. Convert it to ACC.
3.Locate the file and rename it to ".m4r"
4. Double click the file and it now appears in Itunes under "Ringotnes".
5. Syn the Iphone and also make sure that it is set to sync all ringtones. I have also tried by syncing one ringtone, doesnt work. I have also tried cloing and opening itune and syncing again with no go.
6.After the sync if i cick on the iphone on the left and check ringtones, the ringtone is there.. but after unplugging the phone i cant find that ringtone!!!

Can anyone please help and tell me what i am doing wrong?

IIRC, one can only use ringtones downloaded from itunes. In effect, you first pay $.99 for the song you want as your ringtone and then another $.99 to convert and use it as a ringtone.

just download the "ringtones" software from the installer -- that can convert any song of your from your library into a ring tone

aZa - I am using N95 and successfully done the UPnP configuration. My Vista laptop and N95 communicate each other and I can stream all pic/mp3/media files in my laptop to my N95. I tried it with my desktop XP but failed. Is your PC/laptop running XP or Vista? My plan is to build/get another device and I should be able to use my N95 as a control point. I should be able to take files from my laptop and export it the new device with N95.

Hi KB. Eventhough I've had the iPhone for about 7 months now, haven't gotten down to modding it yet. Hence the noob question(s)..

What is an installer? How do you use it? Where do you d/l it from? And where do you download the ringtone software from?

Hi Guys,

Just exchanged my wife's Nokia 6300 for a E51 with 1 GB Memory Card. Really excellent phone. Bought it for Rs10,950/- with bill and warranty. They have introduced a new colour Full black where the battery cover has a finish similar to Carbon Fibre look.

Initial Impressions are like wow. Feels way faster than my E61i. Will observe the phone over the next few days and am even considering swapping my E61i for this phone.

Here is the link to the phone pic & specs.

Hi,

I aqm thinking of getting a smart-phone from the US of A. The options are -

Blackberry 8320 - Locked by T-Mobile

Palm Treo 755p - Locked by Sprint

Both of these phones are really cheap there with service, about 100$ each. I want to ask can these beun-locked in Delhi, or will I end up with a paper-weight.

What a coincidence Viper! My wife also has a 6300 and I have an E61i. Was considering selling off her 6300 and getting her/myself E51.

BTW, how much did you get for 6300? How old was it?
