Just saw this article on a WiMo user's first-use experience of his brother's iPhone. Nice read. A little biased towards WiMo, and of course WiMo vs. iPhone is like Apples vs. Oranges. Mostly stuff we know, but entertaining nonetheless.

Iphone is still in its early iterations. It would be great to compare the IPHONE2 with WM. ATM I am with WM but I have some gr8 expectations with the next iphone.

Guys im looking for a good time/task management application for my n95 8gig. Basically more flexibility in arranging notes/to do lists/ tasks things like that.

I have been searching on google but have come up with Zilch.. anyone know of any good apps?

Got myself a N82 yesterday.
The GPS locking is a bit slow. It takes a minimum of 40-50 seconds to lock the co-ordinates... any problem with my phone?

try google maps, it is much faster..

Its not about the Maps application. Its about the initial lock. I read in the manual that the GPS receiver in the N82 needs atleast 4 GPS satellite signals to calculate the initial lock point or the co-ordinates. Even if I dont start the Nokia Maps application and start with the GPS Data the initial satellite lock is slow.

Extreme torque congrats on the phone, and i think thats the normal time taken by N82 to lock up! I beleive other phones take longer

Thanks aZa. 40-50 seconds is the minimum it takes... there have been instances where the initial lock up has taken more than 3-4 minutes!

Came across this link which says a company called Willcom launched the First Vista O/S phone powered by Intel Centrino ATOM processor. Below is the extract of the press release from MSN :

TOKYO - Carlyle-controlled Japanese handy-phone firm Willcom Inc. rolled out the world's first phones featuring Intel Corp's Centrino Atom microprocessors, as it fights for new users in a saturated market.

Willcom, which held 4 percent of Japan's mobile market at the end of March, said it aims to grab an annual 50,000 to 100,000 users with its D4 phone, which runs Microsoft Corp's Windows Vista operating system.

Dwarfed in a market dominated by mobile phone carriers NTT DoCoMo Inc. and KDDI Corp., Willcom has been focusing on high-end, pricey phones with PC-like capabilities targeting corporate users and students.

It has so far sold 150,000 to 200,000 such smartphones in three years. Willcom's user base numbered 4.6 million at the end of March.

Willcom's newest phone, which comes with a touchpad made by Sharp Corp, goes on market in mid-June priced at $1,272.

Earlier this month, Intel launched its Centrino Atom chips with integrated graphics, aiming to give PC-like power to mobile devices without burning out the battery.
