I am not.
Un check the "Group Messaging" option and you are set to go.

Got the Black update for my Lumia 920. Anybody tried the driver mode settings?

Also, any feedbacks on the "Nokia Beamer" App? Yet to try that.

I have been using Driving Mode for quite a while now. I got it with the Dev Preview of GDR3. Once this feature is setup it activates automatically as soon as your phone connects to the specified BT device. It disables all notifications except for calls and SMS. Even they can be disabled manually. I have disabled SMS notifications too in my setup.

Using the nokia 625 for some time. Its an awesome phone. Big screen, good resolution, excellent camera, 5 MP does the job well. There is virtually no lag.

Planning to try with Airtel 4G this weekend.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Black Update has started rolling out to Lumia 520 . I received mine yesterday night.

Has heart in my mouth due to less storage . It needs at least 883 MB of Free space to download / install . Pls ensure this much space is available and will take almost 1 hours to install fully .

Regards,
Thanks. Now I need to see whether it works.

Any idea about the second problem that I face?

So I get message like "wifi available. connect to it?" on my phone.
I swipe it aside, and hence do not connect.

When I return home (the wi-fi has been in the switched on condition all this while) - the phone should connect to the home wi-fi network ...
It doesn't!
I have to switch off the wifi and then turn it on to make it connect.

Disable the 'Notify me when new networks are found' option in WiFi advanced. That should solve this problem.

Thanks I did this, and it appears to be working as intended now.

But why should it not work otherwise?

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Just downloaded Lumia Black for my Lumia 520 yesteday.

Things I love most about the upgrade:

1. Double Tap to wake: Such a simple but useful feature. Instead of having to press the power button each time to unlock the phone, you just tap the screen twice in quick succession and it wakes up. Even gentle taps work. Makes it so much easier to check status updates from time-to-time, given that glance screen will not work on the 520.

2. App closure via small 'X' button: Like a windows PC, you can now close apps by pressing the back key (to show list of app windows open), and pressing x at the top right corner.

There are other improvements on Bluetooth, a new Driving Mode and Screen Orientation Lock Option, but its the first two features listed above which provide the maximum benefit.

Kudos to Nokia for making Lumia Black available to its cheapest Lumia device so fast.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

I was very interested in the Lumia 720 (and maybe the 625), but I read

http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44627 . This was manageable but the basic flaw - that you can't forward emails with attachments (neither official lotus notes nor gmail). That is a complete and utter deal breaker for me - is that true for other folks as well?

One can do it. Quite possible. Btw you seem to be reading the thread/post wrongly - the author seems to be pointing out exactly this point that you can do it on a WP.
