Im a bit of an "end of life" purchaser when it comes to i Devices mostly on account of the pricing that one is able to get.

So I would love some views on whether I should just pop out or online and grab an iPhone7 128GB right away or not.

This is what I use with my jet black IP7+

Every single one of my mobile phones has a Spigen case. Trust me, you won't go wrong. I pair em up with a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector. The IP7+ has a Spigen TGSP which is excellent.

Network issues : At places where my S7 and other phones (LYF, A5 & other basic phones) work flawlessly, I am suffering from connectivity issues. It says no network coverage. Restarting doesn't help either. Network comes on its own and goes. But this is at very remote areas (but all other phones work). My guess is, the band issue which iPhone is (in)famous for.

At places where connectivity is good, sound clarity and battery drain is less than the S7.

Any way the issue can be solved? The 5S had option to select between 2G/3G and 4G, but not here. Maybe going to 2G mode would have helped, unsure though.

So are the majority of iPhone buyers in India, reports TOI.

Older phones accounted for almost 55% of the 2.6 million devices the company shipped to India in 2016, according to Counterpoint Research. While Apple's official website for India lists only the iPhone 6S and SE for entry-level buyers, other retailers show the iPhone 5, introduced in 2012, and the iPho ne 6, from 2014. The 5S, which was effectively replaced by the SE, was listed at Rs 15,999 during an Amazon sale in May.

While this is understood, should I be buying an iPhone 7 now?
Good prices on Amazon!
And I can give away my 6 to my Mum who will benefit from the larger screen size compared with her 4S.

I would advice you to wait for the next iPhone unless the deal that you are getting is too good to pass. I would also recommend going for the plus primarily because it has much better real life battery life and extra features. The twin camera's at the back are genuinely useful.

Picked a IP7 32 gb (matte black) for a relative from the Apple store. Came to 43k after 7k Axis cashback. This is around 2k more than Amazon but went for peace of mind.

I suggest you go for the 7/7+. There is no guarantee that Apple will drastically cut the 7/7+ before the 8 launch.

The phone (HW/SW) is superb. I am a diehard Android fan but cannot stop complimenting Apple for its premium (cliched, but true!) feel :-)

Am waiting for the IP7 lookalike OP5 myself!

Can you please send me the link where ip7 is available for 41k? I am seeing a 45700 price for the device.

Thanks R2D2. This covers phone too much for my liking. lol: I would prefer something delicate and something transparent. Have you tried other clear cases from Spigen on any of your phones? They also look exquisite. Any other brand you think I need to look at. thanks!

may the force be with you stupid:

Sorry, not Amazon but PayTM:

https://paytm.com/shop/p/apple-iphon...592%7C20%7C%7C

BUT they are not authorized resellers on Apple India.

No I haven't used any transparent cases yet. Yeah, the cases I use are pretty much like putting a beauty queen in a burkini. :D

But the idea is purely to protect the handset and 'anonymize' it to the extent possible i.e. if all your phones are in a Spigen case (as they are in my case) they all look pretty similar to a casual observer.

With you too! :thumbs up

Even I am planning to buy it from PayTm but still skeptical whether I'll get the warranty or not.

Take a look at https://casedodo.in/ if you like thin cases. They appear to be good. Not sure if they have a transparent one though.

Well I took the plunge just now and bought the iPhone 7. Black.
Rs 61999 for iPhone 7 256GB
Plus Rs 8000 cash back.
Effective price then is Rs 54000/-
Paytm clearly had the best offer (as above) when compared with Amazon and Flipkart, both of whom are selling the iPhone 7 128 GB at this price.

I think this was a rather good deal.
Im pleased because this way my Mum will also benefit with my 2.5 year old iPhone 6 because of the larger screen.
Now I shall also need to buy a similar iPhone 6 for my Dad too so that he too benefits from the larger screen.

I am using this spigen case with my 6s for last 4 months, its the best clear case i have tried, its slim, no color change and provides good grip without spoiling the look of my silver 6s. But not easy to take it off.
