i am also planning to get one from Dubai as my friend is coming down next week.
i heard customs is quite strict this time specially for iphone 6s being bought from foreign even if it is just single unit.
as the maximum limit for customs is 45k and iphone 6s exceeds this limit.

how did you get through?

Very simple. Take the phone out of the box and use it like a normal phone. That way it wouldn't be seen as a new purchase. Not ethical but an easy workaround.

You will not have facetime working, keep that in mind.

Just unpack and carry in person, put the packaging inside the bag, charger separate

Re: The iPhone Thread

In Dubai they sell 2 versions of Iphones, one with Facetime and other without it. There is a price difference between the 2. I had bought my Iphone 6 from there with facetime.

Oh this is news to me, and makes sense now to consider this option. Last one i got from DXB did not have the option, hence decided to go with Indian phone when 6 came out.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Just got the new 6S , it was sitting at delhi Customs for past 15 Days . My Initial impressions - there is nothing new in Phone apart from the red colour that I ordered - I am using 12 Inch Macbook with force touch trackpad and found that useful but in short time on iPhone 6 S - this is not very intuitive on 6S - looks more of a gimmick so friends better pickup iPhone 6 at lower rates instead of buying 6S , should my opinion change later on I will post fresh

Wow. This is really news to me. Is Thu-Bai the only place with such an option?

Not really. 10-15% in a few cases. Nothing earth shaking. Each of those apple apps is 500 MB apiece. I would suggest 64 GB anyday.
I totally agree on the 64 GB part. The app sizes have bloated over the years and 16 GB is insufficient for tension-free use.
I am still on iP5 -16GB and constantly have to 'ration' my usage. My next buy will surely be a minimum 64 gb one.

There is also TD-LTE band 40 (2300 MHz frequency for Airtel 4G) missing in the iphone 6s.
i saw on websites online and no website shows this frequency band.

Band support depends on model number. TD-LTE band 40 is supported on some models of 6S.

Details are available here : http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/specs/

Yes, TD-LTE supported models are normally sold in APAC only.

I read that Apple has launched the Iphone 6S at Rs 62k for the 16GB version. What do you guys think of the pricing?

Its exorbitant and ridiculous for only an Incremental model. Though it will still sell in huge numbers.
