I am also using a windows phone which is my secondary phone so my preference is gmail as it also sync contacts with windows phone.

At present i manually add contacts in both the devices and the contact added on windows phone gets sycned with my gmail account

did you setup the sync on iTunes or on the phone?

if on the phone, have you enabled enabled Contacts syncing under Settings > Mains, Contacts, Calendars > <Gmail account you created>

Open the Settings app on your device.
Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll down to the Contacts section. You will only see the Default Account option if you're syncing more than one account.
Select Default Account.
Select your Google contacts account.
Your account will be labeled with the description you gave it in the Description field.

On Phone, now changed the settings to Gmail account. Thanks a lot IronH4WK

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launched - iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display.

iOS8 launched, also Apple Pay, Apple Watch too.

if you're not able to see the Apple live event (because Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.), you can see here it from cNet; they're providing live commentary on what's going on: http://live.cnet.com/Event/Apple_September_9_event.

Who else can hear the Chinese translation track on livestream?

Apple Watch !! & Tim Cook Wearing a White Apple Watch.

The Wheel has already mastered by Sony Ericsson.

Almost all the Rumors are bang on target. Nothing exciting on the hardware front except for the size (Which was Obvious).

iOS 8 is releasing on 17th Sept. 2014. Live Streaming is also available on Macrumors.

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with the latest version of Safari and Mavericks installed but am not being able to view the live stream. Any pointers???

tried the browser, didn't work. tried the iPhone, didn't work. watching on Apple TV clap:

The curved edges looks a bit Samsung-like! Looking forward to check it out in person next week.

Meanwhile, U2's latest album is available free on iTunes https://itun.es/sg/RJEL2

Apple has now a good chance to break all the records by pricing the phone at 1Lakh Rupees!
If not the phone, the phone+watch combo will surely cross the 5zeroes mark

I felt that they have designed th 6 for females and 6+ for males.
But overall I'm not excited by the two phones...not a big leap from the 5s IMO apart from the 1 number increase everywhere

The most underwhelming iPhone launch ever and this comes from someone who has been using iPhone since its introduction. The 4.7 inch is almost perfect screen size but 326ppi is a bit too low especially now when I am used to screen well over 400ppi on my Nexus 5 and I can spot the difference between my Nexus 5 and iPhone 4s while reading a website at low zoom level. The 5.5 inch model on the other hand is a little too big and ungainly, very unlike Apple. If thats not all, the 5.5 inch 128GB model is 499 ON CONTRACT! Beat that!

Indeed. I wanted to buy an iPhone this time and was waiting for the iPhone 6. The iPhone 4 & 5 appear so much better. In fact, an iPhone 5 with 5" screen will be a winner.

Somehow, I am not warming unto the new design.

Was looking forward to the event very eagerly. So somehow managed to hook up to the live event on VLC. First the Chinese translation kept bugging then the phones were such a disappointment. They resemble Samsung with the curved edges and there is absolutely nothing that excited me.

The iphone 5 looks so much more better now :)

Yes you can easily mistake it for a Samsung Galaxy Note2 which also sports a 5.5 inch screen
Aparts from the looks, the size and weight is also so similar.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 weighs 180grms and its size is 80.5 x 151.1 x 9.4
Apple iphone 6 Plus weight 172grms and its size is 77.8 x 158.1 x 7.1
