Re: The iPhone Thread

^^ yeap, learnt it when I tried the beta's of IOS 7

Since I am not a developer nor testing any apps on IOS8, I would rather wait for the final public release.

Re: The iPhone Thread

More than Bugs , most of so called continuity features simply don't exist or even if these are indeed there - I could not figured how to use ,I upgraded both my iphone as well Mac pro but could not make any calls or way to connect iphone - mac . Besides many apps like whatsapp were simply crashing . I will suggest to stay away from the upgrades till these issues are sorted ..

Re: The iPhone Thread

^^ they are still in Beta's, you might not be able to use those features just yet ! There has to be some trick to get the continuity working. I dont have any first hand info of that yet !

Agree, simple users like me need to stay away from Beta's

Was your phone under warranty? If so then they replace it right away for this defect.

I highly doubt they will give any replacements in India. More so for me as I bought my phone from USA. But will try my luck next week

nope - but they had issued a service recall , They will send phone to service centre and you will get a new one if they are unable to repair old one . Chances are more of getting new one .

very difficult unless you can convince some decision maker that you moved to India and this is a recall which has nothing to do with standard warranty . Else take help of any of your friends / relatives who live in US or visit , Apple will keep phone for 1-2 weeks.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I heard they are accepting the phones bought from USA for repair/replacement in India, maybe a one of case but worth a try, the worst is they will say no but who knows you might get lucky

Yup not worth upgrading with this beta, i went back to 7 for now. Will see if it stabilizes in the next beta and then revert. But there were some useful features like the frequent call list and fav floating when you give multitask command etc

Re: The iPhone Thread

My iPhone 5 16 GB has started freezing off late.
Whenever i try to unlock,it fails to do so.
It has just 2GB left of the available storage space.
Should i remove some files?

Looks like your phone is crying out for you to do just that.

Hey Akshay,

Why don't you try a Hard Reset ( Home button + Lock Button ) for about 10 seconds. That way the phone would reset without any loss of data. If that proves to be of no help, I guess a system restore should definitely resolve this issue.

You can try killing some of the apps that are running in the background on your phone. Double click the home button to see the apps running. Swipe them up to kill them.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Guys anyone heard of this website? It seems they are India's first and premium online store for Apple products. I would like to know if anybody has any experience with them.

http://macslatch.com/

P.S: Do we get an option to opt for Apple Care if we buy Apple products from India?

Remove apps that you don't use.

My 4S had about 3.15 GB of "Others". I backed up the phone with iTunes and did a factory reset. "Others" reduced to 1.08 GB. Though I don't notice any performance difference, it is better to clean up once in a while.

I use "Battery Doctor" to free up memory and clean junk files regularly. This is probably the reason my phone works smoothly all the time. I've about 150 apps, over 250 songs and over 500 photos.
