Also iPhone SDK was announced yest, what the deal with that ? How does it benfit us, can someone shed some light on what exactly SDK means !
washingtonpost.com

Read on.

One of the earliest complaints about the iPhone--even before it was a shipping product--was that it could only use Web-based applications, which couldn't offer the same functionality as native applications. Today's announcement of the iPhone software developer's kit (SDK) fixes that limitation--and by doing so, sets the stage for the iPhone as the phone to beat. Period.

I have entered the iPhone community too. I managed to procure a 16 gb iPhone from one of my colleagues who was in US a few weeks back. So far, it is going fine. I am on 1.1.3 unlocked right now. I am not planning on an upgrade to 1.1.4 soon as lot of applications do not work on 1.1.4 yet.

Is it true? I couldn't find any news of iPhone launch in India on the web... and there's nothing on Apple India's website as well!

What?? Thats unbelievable! I dont recall any ad or campaign announcing the launch in India! Have they tied up with any network or is it purely unlocked?

@unknown: Spoke with 2 mumbai based apple dealers, they have no intimation that the 8gb iphone has been launched officially in India.

Kindly confirm with the delhi dealer once again and keep us updated.

It's not the iPhone. That is the price of the 8GB iTouch:

The Apple Store (India) - iPod touch

Wow!!

Thats a very apt name. So, if you unlock it incorrectly, it becomes useless is it?

Im sure this drives a lot of potential buyers in India (like me). Does the iPhone become an ibrick evedn if the version upgrade is done incorrectly?
