Thank you for this link. The Android phone is a Pixel 4a and this seems to be an issue with that model when sharing videos taken by the Pixel camera to iPhones, the videos come blurred. Seems like a worldwide problem, that is yet to be resolved. So I’m clear the issue isn’t with my iPhone.

Can you save that video on PC and open with VLC to check tech details. Specifically what video codec is used. Save it from WhatsApp in iOS.

Probably codec is not among the supported ones on iOS.

Also try installing VLC player on iPhone, maybe it will play the video.

Re: The iPhone Thread

There's a lot of buzz going around for iphone 16/iOS 18. I don't see any updates here on Team-BHP. So, here we go. Pardon for low quality pic as those are screenshots taken from twitter videos:

Looks like Apple has taken a clue from the S24 and is going to introduce all the AI related features in the iPhone 16.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Based on the rumors that are already afloat with regards to the 'next' iPhone i.e. the 17, seems like the 16 series could be best avoided.

There are plenty rumors suggesting a 'major' step-up for the iPhone including the whole design language.

Going by the leaked pics of the 16 series, aside from the Vanilla 16, the Pro series look bloody same. A regular Joe would be hard pressed to find a difference between the 16 Pro v/s 11 Pro, okay maybe 12 Pro.

On the other hand, Y-o-Y the difference between the Vanilla and Pro phone is reducing. If the rumors are to be believed, the next year's Vanilla 17's may see 120Hz refresh rate, finally!

After burning a lot of cash to fill up the coffers of Tim Cook, I have already decided to skip iPhone 16 Promax (this will be my first miss) even though I have around $600 lying in my Apple Pay which is tempting me to get the 16 Promax.

I have come to realize that missing one model is the best way to enjoy the iPhones.

15 Promax has been a bit of a disappointment from a battery perspective as I am now down to 96% battery health and getting 24-hours from a full battery is also a challenge. But, the excellent camera more than makes up for this downside.

Cheers to iPhone 17 Promax.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I, for one, have realised that iPhones last forever. I had bought the 7+ and 13 Pro Max just a month after their launch in 2016 and 2021, respectively. The 7+ was passed down to my younger sibling after I got the 13. The major deterrent in 7+ on its original battery, which is at 72% battery health, but apart from that, it is still very good. My sibling will be getting the upcoming Pro or Pro Max version mostly in the signature colour (like Sierra Blue for the 13 Pro). Wish I could pass down my iPhone 13.

All in all, I have come to terms that an upgrade after 3-4 years or even 5 years down the line is better than upgrading every year. Of course, buying in regular colours (gold, etc.) gives you the advantage that not many know which model exactly it is!

Theres a reason (maybe 2) to upgrade to 16. Apple might help you further by providing a good buyback price!

Haha , Tim will be pretty sad to know this.

After shifting to the iPhones, I now replace my phones after 3+ years of usage as the iPhones relatively hold on much better than the Androids. Of course this is my personal opinion after using numerous androids and iPhones.

IMHO a 3 - 4 years is a good lifecycle for an iPhone replacement given the current crop of iPhones and their incremental upgrades.

My last jump from the humble 7 to 12 Pro was quite significant and it did add value to the overall user experience.

Well, my 12 Pro is now 3.5 years old and even though I'm tempted by the upcoming iPhone 16, I think I shall hold this urge and might as well wait for the 17, which seems like definitive upgrade over the current / recent iPhones.

Couldn't agree more. I'm using my 6.5 years old iPhone 7 as a secondary phone which has undergo one battery replacement and is still holding tight. Surely the performance is not electrifying as it was when new, but it does a pretty decent job. Not to forget the sheer compactness of this device which is a rarity now.

Same goes for the 3.5 years old 12 Pro which is due for a battery replacement (current health - 79%) which is showing up in the picture quality and a bit of lag under heavy operations.

I shall get a new battery for the 12 Pro and sail through until the 17 comes in.

Re: The iPhone Thread

With the 16 series launch around the corner, when is a good time to get the 15 Pro(or max)?

I am afraid Apple pulls the plug on the older Pro model as soon as they launch the new one. Planning to get a new phone from the US in the next week or two.

I can target the 2nd week if the price would fall post Sep 9 event and the phone would still be available in the US stores.

The prices will definitely drop post the event and your target is indeed the perfect time to pick the 15 Pro. Not sure if it would be available in the official store, but it should be available in the other retail stores (like in India: Croma, Reliance Digital, etc.) and probably Amazon as well.

It mostly should be available at the current price of 14 Pro.

But where is the 14 Pro available now? B&M stores? I don’t see online stores stocking them either.

The official B&M stores will never have the discontinued iPhones. It’s just the online sites like FK & Amazon maybe have some in their stocks.

Apologies.

They pull the plug on all Pro models post-event. Do note that the 14 Pro is now almost 2 years old, so naturally the inventory is not there as they stop production. The point I was trying to make was that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will mostly be priced at par with the price of current 15 Pro, and the 15 Pro’s price should drop by ~$100 or some more. Luckily, he is going just after the event, and it is quite likely that there will be inventory for 15 Pro models. I guess it will be listed on the website until 09/09, so all the stock shouldn’t mysteriously disappear.

Re: The iPhone Thread

The battery health of my 15 Pro has fallen to 99% now after 10 months of usage. Cycle count is at 155.
