Re: The iPhone Thread

Can anyone please help? iPhone 14. I have some documents in a pen drive that I can copy on to the iPhone. The whole folder. However, when I want to copy those files to another pen drive, I have to copy each file, not the whole folder. Any work-around?

6 months of using the iPhone 15 review - so far no major issues . Only concern is it gets very hot during charging even while using the apple 20w charger. I am happy with the camera but occasionally I miss the S23 Ultra’s zoom lens. Happy with its video capabilities. Some photos I clicked

Re: The iPhone Thread

I used to update to developer beta on my previous iPhone but never bothered on the current 13 Pro Max. Updated to iOS 18.0 Developer Beta today and am finding it great. A minor glitch that I found: Calendar widget is not in dark mode while the app is in dark mode. If someone has a secondary iPhone, do give it a try.

By far the biggest talking point for me is Voicemail! IIRC, it was available in Airtel? Now you can send a call straightaway to voicemail and it also has a feature of Live Voicemail which gives a live transcript!

Loved the control panel. Also, no need to go in settings to edit the icon list!

This feature is available in iOS 17 itself. Been using it on my phone.

I was on iOS 17 all this time and had toggled on the Voicemail setting but it never worked. Could you share which carrier are you using and is it postpaid or prepaid?

Edit: I am on a prepaid Vi sim so maybe thus it was not available.

Can you please let me know the steps to make this automation. I created the automation to add an alarm when battery level falls to 20%, but it just stuck at choose time in alarm clock when it hit 20%.

Do you have Apple Music? If you have then set an automation that plays a song when battery falls below 20% or simply just add an automation that will give you a notification when it falls below 20%.

In the timer section I made a 2 min timer so that in that 2 min the phone will charge to about 77-78% and then an alarm will play when the timer ends.

Can you tell me how to use the voicemail feature. I thought it was not available in India. How do I set it up and how does it work. I have prepaid Vi and Jio on iOS 17.

I have updated to iOS 18.0 Developer beta. Safari feels a bit laggy but apart from it most things work fine. If you are willing to update to iOS 18 then it will automatically work.

Whenever someone calls, you can send it straight to voicemail. The person can record the message after the beep.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Using iPhone 14 since April 9 2023, looks like with the recent iOS update the battery drain is quite noticeable.

It has dropped to 92% with 298 cycles. Is this normal? Anyone else facing similar issue?

Are you guys using wireless charging? Using wired charging and limiting charge to 80% if that is feasible or even using optimised charging option helps a lot in keeping battery health intact for longer.

Coincidence was having the conversation elsewhere.

No. I am using the original apple charger brick and the cable and always ensured that the phone is unplugged once the phone reaches 80-85% and never let it go below 20% battery till date.

Yes optimised charging is enabled too. Phone is strictly used for WhatsApp, calls and teams message (sometimes calls when I am away from the laptop) and photography occasionally.
