Re: The iPhone Thread

I just bought a 15 pro max ( switching from s22 ultra). Can I use 2 numbers together? 1 jio esim & 1 physical airtel sim.
Still haven't transferred my data so just wanted to know in advance. Thanks!

Re: The iPhone Thread

Yes, you should be able to use dual sims. One as an ESIM and another as a physical one.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Some good news for iPhone 15 series owner's. Gives all the more reason to ditch the 13 / 14 series and get the latest , if one wishes to hold the phone for long.

Apple confirms iPhone 15 series batteries have longer lifespan

Update on the issue , since this would benefit fellow BHPains if they face / are currently facing a similar issue.

So after trying all the possible troubleshooting options , the final resort was to factory reset the phone.
Took the iCloud backup and ‘restored’ the phone with the same back-up data ; yet the problem persisted. Nothing changed and the notifications issue remained as is.

I had almost given up on this , but thought of checking on ‘Reditt’ just as a last shot. One user commented to do the back-up without the app and app’s data and do a ‘clean’ restore i.e. without the apps and their respective data. And voila! notifications started coming in normally!

Possibly , it was some bad app data which was interfering with the notifications and causing this issue.

Though this option calls for the pain of re-installing of all the apps and re-logins , etc. ; it definitely sorted out the main problem and then some.
- The notifications grouping wasn’t working on my IP 7 which go fixed. The notifications for same app were lining up individually earlier , inspite of the option of ‘grouping’ being ON in the notifications setting.
- I can see an improvement in the battery drain and it is holding up pretty well. I’m myself surprised at this.
- The storage space improved by quite a margin , inspite of re-installing all the apps. Possibly the , inherent app data and the cache memory which got cleared helped.
- The app opening / closing has gotten quite fluid, and heating has kinda reduced.

These are some of the noticeable changes I observed after this ‘clean install’. So probably it is prudent that we perform such clean installs at regular intervals. It helps to clear off the unnecessary junk from the phone which gets cluttered over the course of the usage.

Also, I didn’t lose anything apart from the apps and apps data. Everything from the contacts (those that were backed up) , Photos , Messages , etc. were restored. Ofcourse , one has to redo the Phone settings and personalization though.

Many thanks to all the fellow BHPians who pitched in with the troubleshooting solutions , much appreciated !

Not surprising. Next year they will confirm that the iPhone 16 series has the longest battery lifespan.

Re: The iPhone Thread

After using the 15 Promax for about 2-months now, I'm a little disappointed with it's battery performance.

After repeated observations, I have noted that for a 6-7 hours screen time, I'm getting 24 hours of battery life which is pathetic compared to the previous Pro-Max phones that I have used.

Any other 15 Promax user feels the same? Or, are you getting a better performance?

However, I'm blown by the pictures and videos that an iPhone 15 Promax takes. It's 5x zoom and studio light feature is very impressive.

I have been using the 15 Promax for a little over 2 months now. Checked the average screen time for the last 10 days after reading your post. It shows an average of a little over 5 Hrs of screen time & around 1.5 Hrs of idle time. I charge it to the full 100% when the battery shows ~10% charge remaining & a single full charge easily lasts for a minimum of 36 Hrs for me. Checked the charging history & it shows I have charged the phone 40 times till now from the date of first use (24th Dec'23). One thing that I have observed is that if you take calls with the speaker on then battery drains a little faster.

I am blown by its video capability too. Nothing can beat it. It is "THE" reason I got this phone. Cinematic mode is pure magic.

I am using 15 plus which has similar battery life as pro max according to so many reviews. Using it since November.

In my experience battery life easily gives SOT of 10+ hours with 25% battery remaining if I am using wifi all day. If I am on 5g this reduces to 8+ SOT and if I use Hotspot for sometime then battery percentage drops quite fast.

The regular 15 uses last year's chipset that does not have the heating problem. My 15 pro gets warm during video calls (both WhatsApp and facetime), and battery drops fast when on the call. My previous iPhone 13 used to stay cool during video calls.

Am a tad disappointed with the phone compared to the earlier iPhone 13. Bu I am able live with it cos it easily lasts for a day for my kind of usage. I charge it only to 80% and after 24 hours when the phone again goes to the charger it would have about 20% left.

I find the battery backup extremely good on the 15 plus, followed by the Pro Max. With the Pro Max I used to finish the day with around 30-40% juice left, but with the Pro the day usually ends in the red zone (below 20%).

As I mentioned in one of the previous post, I find the 5x lens a bit of a struggle when compared to the 3x on the 15 Pro (or 14 Pro Max), especially with the portraits. It struggles in less than ideal lighting, with the edges getting washed out – for e.g., the strawberries in your photos.

I have not noticed any heating issue with the 15 Pro, or the Pro Max. Did hear about that in the earlier iterations and they blamed it on some apps (Instagram?), and fixed with a software update.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I’ve been using 15 Pro Max since end November 2023. I’m finding the battery lasts quite long (~24 hours or so and even then it doesn't generally get to the magic 20%).

I’m primarily an email, whatsapp and browser user. I prefer doing calls on my iPads.

Before I turned in my iPhone 13 as trade-in I made video calls between the two devices and the 15 Pro did get uncomfortably warm. The 13 remained cool.

When i went to the Apple store to turn in the trade-in device I checked the 15 and 15 pro on display there. The pros (regular and max) were much warmer than the vanilla 15s.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Even I believe that 13 was the last good phone they made. The problem occurs when we turn it in for battery replacement, and that new battery is just not good enough - forcing one to upgrade

My 15 Pro still gets warm (sometimes uncomfortably so) if I use it for long video calls or Youtube videos; this is the case even after updating to the latest update which claimed to have resolved the problem entirely. Would like to note though that the heating has considerably reduced than before, when it would heat up even during basic usage of mails or surfing on Safari. Apple will never admit it, but there's definitely a design flaw/chipset issue, which is causing this heating.

Sorely miss my 13, which never had any of these issues...EVER! Even my 12 Pro, which I am using alongside 15 Pro, does not have any heating issue whatsoever and even the battery is healthy enough.
