I think only Milagrow is manufacturing in India. Irobot, a very reputable brand, supposedly has only one distributor/ cum service centre in Bangalorr Puredirect or something. The Amazon reviews about sturdiness of product for Indian are conditions poor. .
I haven’t bought one as yet, but I have heard mixed reviews for the brand Ecovacs, I think this is a company based out of Malaysia and few of my society residents have complained about lack of support for Ecovacs.
I don’t know any one personally who has bought Milagrow, but I think their support would be alright since they are an Indian company. With regard to iRobot, my friend has bought 2 of these, one dry and one wet, and he’s been having frequent software related issues, and at the moment he is not happy with thr customer support. I’m leaning towards Mi since they seem to have reasonable presence in India and customer support should not ideally be an issue. Not able to order currently due to the lock down though.

Ok Folks glad to report that the Milagrow iMAP Galaxy which I had initiated for a replacement arrived last week and has been working without issues.
There was a software update as well which was installed in the app. There are no issues reported with the bumper now and it navigates flawlessly.
A noteworthy mention to Amazon support who were prompt in initiating a replacement after listening to the issues I had with the first one.

A few other observations/precautions to consider in general:-

1.The brushes and the rubber mop which rotates underneath and sucks the dust is made of soft rubber for obvious reasons .So please ensure there are no hard plastic items lying around while the device is in use. If it sucks that object in it can easily cut through the rubber beading. In my case, the leftover of an incense stick( Dhoof batti) was lying around which the robot sucked in and in that process, it did slice through the rubber beading. So any pins or plastic clips or anything which is hard and small enough to be sucked in should be removed from the floor before using the robot.

2. The outer ring cover which has the sensor behind it is hard plastic but is prone to scratches as it rubs against surfaces so I have kept it covered with the same plastic sheet which came from the factory barring the sensor area. I know it sounds cheap but I like the device without any scratches.

3.During the first time mapping if you want the device not to enter under the bed use a mop or a book to block the entrance walking alongside the robot as it maps the area so that it records it as a no go zone itself without you marking the area specifically.

Re: Anybody used HiTech Robotic cleaning?

So is there any Robovac that does wet and dry and costs < 20k ?
With just basic vanilla features of auto navigation and mopping the entire house.

I have seen some models which claim to do wet mopping but do not have a water tank.
Frankly without a water tank the wet mopping would not be effective, because the only moisture would be from the mop pad which will dry up with 1/4th the room.

Didn't expect myself to say this but our Mi Mop P has left everyone at home thoroughly impressed with both its vacuuming and moping abilities.

My mindset has always been that these gadgets are just gimicky toys that move around the house bumping into stuff and their suction power would be of no match to the high powered corded vacuum that we occasionally use.

But after seeing the robovac in action at home effortlessly navigating through obstacles and ensuring every bit of the traversed area absolutely dust free, its simply amazing and more effective than sweeping especially under almirahs and beds, it just glides under disappears and comes out finishing the job. Physical vacuuming is such a tedious job, it is done occasionally during deep cleaning.

The mopping too is quite effective in removing traces of finer dust if any left after vacuuming. Mopping in fact consumes a lot less battery power and the water tank is left with some water even after mopping the whole house. Also the laser and map based navigation avoids it from bumping into obstacles.

With the app integration, its just a breeze and effortless to use. The age of robots has truly arrived with these gadgets with their acceptance and deployment accelerated due to lockdowns. It is now just a matter of time before they will start coming with hands and legs and may be seen climbing up and down the stairs. I'm all in for a personal robot assistant in future but have a side thought that it might attack if it gets malicious.

I would definitely recommend one. Just go for a brand that can ensure after sales spares and consumables support.

With your requirement just go for MI Robo, you wont be disappointed. its 25k and 4k worth google speaker free.

- Good powerful vaccum.
- Mapping feature and multi-map, which is only available in other robovac above 50k. Without mapping you cannot choose to vacuum only kitchen or room.
- Wet mop is good, and it comes with 2 in 1 tank with water sufficient to mop the house, And it works better if you put the presoaked mop.
- MI service is available everywhere in cities and small town, so spares and service is not an issue. Other company service centers are 1-2 in country.

Thanks for the review. I am looking to buy the same. A few queries;

1. Did you buy the Robotic Vacuum cleaner online?
2. On Flipkart or directly on Mi.com?
3. Is the charging dock user friendly?
4. Does the robot attach itself to the dock for charging?
5. Is the Robot kid friendly?
6. Can we select the time slot for cleaning? Say like 5.00AM to 6.00AM?

Ours is a 3 BHK Apartment and our two kids create quiet a racket everyday and we just bid the Nanny goodbye since she had to be with her family in these times.

I got mine about 8 days ago. It probably is the best 25K investment for me.

1&2. Got it through flipkart
3. Yes it is
4. The robot will trace and find the charger on its own, after completion of the task or if the charge goes low
5. This is a difficult question. I would imagine that it is not, given the electronics and sensors that it contains
6. Yes, you can.

Positives:

Battery backup is good, only about 30-40% is getting used for one floor for us. Pro mop uses more battery as it uses high frequency vibrations to simulate the hand mopping.
Ability to create multi floor maps
Options to set virtual wall, different vacuum and mopping modes for each room and “no go” zones
Auto detection of floors in a multi floor home
Auto detection of mats and avoiding them while mopping
5200mAH battery which can work for 3+hr
Two brushes in the front as against one found in the most of the models

Negatives:

Limitations with Robot based vacuuming and cleaning:

User experience:

Maintenance and Cleaning:

Important points for multi floor users:
sgm has superbly captured each and every facet of the T8 Ozmo Pro. I really cannot add anything here.

I just want to highlight that the Ozmo Pro ultrasonic accessory is worth every paisa. It cleans far far better than 'ordinary' mops which simply glides along the floor and is pretty ineffectual in my opinion. I would highly recommend this device for anyone who wants effective mopping.

Only 'cons' I can think of are:
1. The mop accessory is a rapidly moving piece of machinery and could conceivably wear out. It has a very mechanical action as it scrubs the floor.
2. The disposable mopping pads (₹40) each are a continuing opex. I usually wash and reuse them for about 4/5 days each.
3. The mopping pads are not always in stock at Amazon India.

However, the sheer bliss of a well cleaned marble or wooden floor is amazing, and I am actually enjoying the barefoot experience nowadays.

Will update as we go along. Stay safe!

I bought it from https://www.mi.com/in/buy/product/mi-robot-vacuum-mop-p and got the MI Google speaker free worth 4k. Also got 1 year extended warranty for Rs 999.

I guess Speaker offer is only if you buy from MI.com.

Re: Anybody used HiTech Robotic cleaning?

Even our iLife Robo is performing well. Best 16K we spent. I think these robots are fool proof, these days - and built well. Cleaning its tiny dust container after every job is a chore, though. Roomba models send the dust up to the base station, from where we can retrieve - once in a while. I'd want that feature next

A Couple of questions..
How long will it take to clean a house? A 1000Sq/ft per say.

And what's the noise level this produces? Can one take a call standing right beside it?

TIA

Should take around 30-40 mins in S-Pattern (normal mode), could take 60-80 mins in y-pattern(Deep cleaning). It will take longer time 1st time to map the house.

Yes, Noise is not that much, can see TV or take call, it doesn't make big noise like a normal vacuum cleaner. Also it has silent mode to reduce the noise.
