World's thinnest notebook for specs have a look Here
Price- Around 70k for base model .

Hey,this is a beautiful laptop. I just saw this yesterday. I was quoted 72k INR here in madras for the base model. It's sure light,But the connectivity options are sure limited. But sure perfect for mobility.

It sure looks great. The big question is WHY?

(BTW, I'm not a Mac Basher. I think Steve Jobs is the best thing that happened to computers and consumer electronics).

All that said, it is great to see Multi-Touch make it to production on a lappie. For a while that will definitely be the selling point on this lappie (other than pure sexiness), till they introduce it in other models.

72k isnt bad at all compared to US prices. Is it the official price?

Great. Another reality distortion field.

I love it when chicks show me their Macbook or whatever white thing is in vogue, and then it doesn't play a WMV.

Must say though, Jobs can make anything seem cool.

Macs can actually play WMV's and WMA's. It's all just a matter of installing a codec. Even then, the best option is to use VLC which is a free video player and is far better than Quicktime, Real or WMP.

Ohh, and yeah Steve Jobs and Apple seem to have the power to make anything seem cool. Rather than the hardware Mac's are far better for their software (OS X and iPhone interface) which is far better than anything on the Windows platform.
BTW, I'm typing this on a Vaio Vista because I've a broken Mac and can't wait to get a new one pronto. Also, Vista isn't half bad as people seem to think it is. Get a chunkload of RAM and a decent processor and its pretty fast and stable.

Macs, yeah I'm sure you get codecs, but they don't play WMV out of the box.

Vista FTW!!!

SO what if OS X can't play WMV out of the box ?

Windows can't play MP4, MOV files either !

I think it is upgrade time for Rudra Sir and Sam Bhai.

Apple - MacBook Air - Technical Specifications

I think the processor is special bulit for this notebook. And it intel core 2 duo.

God, Please give me a bonus of 72k this time..please..please...

:)

It redefines sleekness to another level ... Only draw back is the absence of a DVD ROM !
Don't you think the price diff between the two models is very steep?

ONE USB port on a lappie is a little too less IMHO. Maybe Apple will soon sell a matching ultrathin USB root hub for the MacBook Air for plenty$$$.

And I can't find if it has a DVD/CDROM drive or not, from the specs. Having no drive would be stretching things a bit too far, IMHO. It could have a slot-port for the DVD drive on the side opposite the peripheral connections but I can't find any such pic.

Does not have ethernet, firewire. No optical drive bay either. One USB is all you get. You need external drives. Mostly for executives.

Does not have ethernet,
Is this a critical thing? Guess i can live with "wireless only" option...
