I would like to see your camera, whenever you're free. When I say "see", I mean check image in my comp.

Shouldn't be a big problem considering we're in same city.
Sure, not a problem.. would be delighted! please let me know where i can come?

I will once again check out the manual and settings and report!

Thank you Rtech ,Stig..sorry AZA & Tsk , I hope I made the right choice. Am quite about the build though . Sony DSC H5 to S3 IS was like comparing corolla to skoda. Build wise canon is simply in a different league.

H5 has bad purple fringing inspite of having Carl branded lens. S3 IS is the best allrounder.

Hari, the pics of the Canon S3 are on this page - in post 351. You could also do a search on the web for reviews & more details. Check sites like dpreview.com, imaging-resource.com. The S3 has a good set of features.

I was also thinking in lines of Canon S3 IS... besides the huge zoom and a good stabilizer it also has a great movie feature. However the weakness of this camera is that it is not so ideal at anything over ISO 200. ISO 400 is grainy and 800 is almost unusable.

Now I am thinking in terms of an entr-level D-SLR. D40 and Canon Rebel 350D are in the running. I am not yet sure, but for me D40 seems to be in the winning as of yet... Lets see.
