Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Friends I need your help to decide upon a cordless vacuum cleaner which I am planning to buy. My budget is approximate INR 7000 - 7500 and here are my requirements.....

1) Good suction power
2) Easy to operate in terms of weight and ergonomics
3) Good battery backup (atleast 20 - 30mins)
4) To be used in both Car and home cleaning

If you check any website like AMAZON there are tens of recommendations and from the name of it all look Chinese product. Hence reaching out to the most trustworthy group. Two of the products which I shortlisted are below however feel free to add any other product you are aware of and actually using at home.

1 - AGARRO Regency Cordless Stick vacuum cleaner
2 - Kent Zoom Vacuum cleaner

I am more inclined towards AGARRO due to a review in AMAZON and from one of the youtuber. However I do not want to rely on it hence posting on T-BHP for suggestions.

Kindly respond with your advice on these 2 or any other cordless stick product which you are aware and good (within this budget).

I would suggest the Karcher cordless vacuum cleaner, which I am using. The suction power is great, but the only downside is that the charge will last only 12 minutes. Please find below link of the product from Amazon.

I vouch for Dyson V12. I have a hair-shedding dog at home and the Dyson has been extremely good at cleaning after his bout of shedding which is everyday.
the V15 has an accessory that does mopping as well which is a great feature add.
the v12 lasts for 35 mins in Medium power mode. about 15-ish minutes in high-power boost mode. Medium Power mode is more than enough to clean whole house.

Thanks , Yes , DYSON is The Best cordless vacuum, however it's expensive. Moreover I own a corded Karcher W3 which is quite powerful and does the job well. I want to add the cordless one to our home needs within the budget of INR 7500 or below .

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

I recently purchased Roidmi F8 from Flipkart for around 9K. Pretty good for the price and portable. Though I feel the battery backup is low in high power mode.

There are plenty of reviews on Youtube comparing it favorably against much expensive options [being a Chinese international model from MI - it is available in many countries].

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Will swear by Dyson. I have the absolute v11 pro for the last couple of years and it’s been absolutely brilliant. Checks off all the boxes. A bit expensive but best in the business. I use it both for home and car and lasts for about 38 min on standard mode and 12 min max mode.

I had done a demo for Kent and Eureka and just did not do the job.

Cheers!

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Two weeks back I started my search for a good cordless vacuum and my Budget was exactly the same i.e. 7000-8000. After doing research on the web and checking the demo instruments, I bought a Dyson V11. It is a one time investment and serve its purpose for years. My parents house has a Dyson v6 doing its duty since 2016-17 and still works like new. So, take the lowest priced model and you won't regret it.

If budget is a concern, go for Karcher brand as I found their products much better than eureka Forbes etc.

Thanks,

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Hello, SinghBHp. I am using the Kent one for more that a year or two. Works flawlessly till date. I use it to vaccum the floor at home (tiles) and the car. No issues for these use cases. However, charging time is on the higher side - if your charge runs out in the middle of a cleaning process, you have to essentially stop your work. If you have any specific questions, you can DM me.

I did not buy Dyson because of the cost and because my requirements were not so demanding.

I don't think there is any Quality cordless vacuum cleaner you can buy at that price point. You'll have to spend 4x that, minimum.

I have detailed my experience for a Samsung Jet 70 here (The Home Appliance thread)

3 months in and I am most pleased with this purchase. A Dyson would have been ideal but I was not willing to pay >2x the cost for the latest V15. The good thing about Dyson is that even if you buy a couple older generation units, you still get good quality. Sort of like buying an iphone 12 today, when the latest 15 has hit the shelves. Will still work flawlessly.

If the Dyson and Samsung are out of reach, consider this Philips

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

I was in the same boat few months back.
I finally made peace with the fact that none of the models in my price range will have great suction power - and after some rumination I realized that for my application I didnt need the most powerful model. I focused more on accessories and was hell bent on getting one with a flexible tube attachment.

I bought the Eureka Forbes Drift from Amazon for 8K on an experimental basis - currently selling for 9K. After two months of usage I see myself using this more than I had planned. Of all attachments I use the flexible tube the most.

It has sufficient power for my usage - spider webs, bed, sofa, window sills, car, misc. I didnt plan to use it for the floor at the time of purchase, but due to the convenience I have been able to do the floor as well and collect brownie points from the better half It provides battery backup of 30mins which has been good enough.

For car applications the flexible tube helps get under the seats. I discovered an ant nest in the front passenger footwell corner below the dashboard few weeks back. The vac was a life saver! I would not have been able to reach the spot without the flexible tube - and for this reason alone I would strongly recommend it.

1) Good suction power - you wont get the best. Make peace with it.
2) Easy to operate in terms of weight and ergonomics - it does feel a bit heavy on the wrist after 30 mins of usage. Not a deterrent for me but older folks may not like to use it at length. Then again I bought this for small jobs and have used it for full 30mins only on 2 occasions. Needs filter cleaning after 1hr of usage. It has a sponge -> HEPA -> sponge -> motor arrangement. The first sponge and HEPA filter get clogged after an hour of use and needs cleaning. Its a messy affair and I take it down to the road for this job. Don't get discouraged though, the more dust the filter traps the less is present in the exhaust air. The process to clean the filter is very easy just that it is a bit messy - not a job suitable for an apartment balcony. Another advantage is it has a push on-off button rather than a trigger which needs to be constantly pressed. This allows use of both hands for cleaning when required.
3) Good battery backup (at least 20 - 30mins) - 30mins, 4-5hrs charging time
4) To be used in both Car and home cleaning - works well in car too, excellent for nooks and cranies. It also has a blower function which none of the others in the price range had. A feature that I have not yet and probably never will use

If budget is not a constraint, Dyson hands down. We have a Dyson V11 Absolute pro for the last 2.5 years, and it's just brilliant. It is the Apple of the vacuum cleaning world.

Whatever you buy, please make sure you buy one with a swappable battery. It's usable life will be much longer, and you can also increase the run-time by simply buying an additional battery.

Cheers!

I used the turbo mode only on couple of occasions so had no clue. Since you asked, I did an ARAI style test:
Conditions:
- No attachments
- Fully charged, bin empty, filters cleaned
- Ran in bursts of 1-2 mins on turbo mode
- Break of 3+mins between runs (didnt want to cook the motor or battery though it didnt heat much)
- Stopwatch timed

And the number was 17mins 51sec 85ms before low battery indicator showed up.
With attachments and under normal usage conditions, the motor would face more resistance and runtime will be lower.

I used it on floor mats with the upholstery attachment and it seemed ok. The upholstery attachment should be ok for once in a while cleaning of carpets. I do not think the floor roller is powerful enough to overcome the resistance on carpet.

Haven't contacted them yet so no clue.
They called and bugged me a few times to leave a review on Amazon. Didnt do that. Leaving this review on TBHP instead

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Just realized that I forgot to add floor cleaning info - yes it is satisfactory. It is easy to navigate the head around objects, head is easy to clean. Floor finger swipe test shows it does not leave behind much. It is powerful enough in normal mode to suck up rice grains, groundnuts etc. but will not pick heavier items like broken chunks of cement. Does a good job of picking up sand grains etc from the car floor carpets.
Do keep the price in mind while evaluating the suction capability.
Now that I think of it, the blower can be used to clean the cabin and engine air filters
