Yes, Dyson is great with service even if the initial investment is high. My V10 developed some trouble after 4 years. Had a video call with their engineer, and they sent me a replacement main unit (the one with motor) for only ₹2000, shipping included. It worked but power lasted for only a few seconds. Another video call with their engineer, and they sent me a replacement battery for free! Now, everything works as good as new.

Dyson service is awesome. had misplaced the power brick for the V10 and looked for outside options ranging from 4K to 6K, then it struck me that I could ask Dyson. The entire conversation was pleasant. Finally, it was sent home in two days, and it cost just 350.

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Bought a Dyson V12s few days back. Though I was hesitant given the price, my Home Minister was adamant and finally I agreed. Initial feedback is excellent. The amount of dust it picks up from the beds, sofas and dining chairs is surprising. And because it is handy to use, we see it being used much more often than the corded Black & Decker vacuum it replaces.

Question to the experts - The Dyson claims 150W motor while my Black & Decker is 1300W. Isn't that quite a significant difference and yet Dyson seems to gather more dust. How?

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

Just purchased Dyson V8 for Rs.22k odd from here. It's retailing around 30k everywhere.

Yet to use it properly. Hope it serves well.

Is it worth considering the Dyson v8, even though it's an older model? Please advise, as I want hassle-free ownership.

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

After checking many options, bought V8 Absolute with an optional detail cleaning kit. Bought it from from dyson online store itself. Installed wall mounting charger today and this thing is awesome. To check the performance, cleaned 2 mattresses, and the amount of dust it pulled was scary to see. I think never ending construction activities near the home are the main reason.

Re: Cordless Vacuum Cleaner : Which one to buy?

I was thinking of getting a car vacuum . Will the ones that work by plugging into 12 v socket in the car mess with the battery a lot ? Should I just go ahead and buy one that can be charged and used instead ? My budget is limited to less than 6k . Thanks in advance

I have been using the TUSA cordless vacuum cleaner (amazon link)
Has been serving me well since last 1.5 years. I usually charge it at home and keep it in the boot. It easily gives 30 min of cordless usage. It can also be operated and charged using the 12V socket. Comes with neat packing cover, and falls in your budget as well.

No problem at all. When using the vacuum, ensure your engine is switched on (of course with the AT in P or MT in neutral) with the parking brake properly engaged.
