I don't think this is a good idea. The dust will fly around in the bottom bucket thing which might put extra stress on the motor filter (and possibly also disperse some particles into the surrounding areas).

I"m not sure about wet vacuuming. The purpose of the air filter is to prevent dust particles from entering the vacuum motor.

During wet vacuuming you definitely want to remove the dust bag (obviously). Can't say the same for the air filter. The intake pipe in the yellow bucket has a downward bend which should prevent the dirty liquid from splashing onto the air filter.

If the liquid does inadvertently end up splashing onto the filter, I suppose better to have a ruined filter than a ruined motor.

Well, I mean that I, along many others, consider their products very overpriced.

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner, or had, as it was underwater in our flood. It did do week at extracting cat hair from carpets in my London house. Here I only used it for sprucing up a couple of small mats and extracting dust from dark corners and the inside of machines. For hard floors, especially our Indian ceramics, broom and mop work just as well if not better.

True but I took the plunge to see if it would work. We are in between maids so broom and mop is not easy.

Till we get new maid will use the dyson and when we get maid will train maid to use as well atleast for sofa and dust rather than floor.

Lets see.

I bought the Fortune Tablets from Amazon and my wife has approved it after a couple of wash cycles. She says its better than Finish Powder. Finish Tablets are anyways priced way too high. So we will possibly stick to Fortune Dishwasher Tablets going forward - appears to be value for money at the price-point :thumbs up

Is it OK to buy these in Large volume like 180 Tablets at one shot and store it? Is there any expiry date on these Dishwasher tablets?

Go for the Fortune powders instead the tablets, they are even more cost effective.
The dishwashing powders or tablets don't have any expiry. You can safely buy 180 tabs. I buy 6X1kg packs of Fortune dishwashing powders in one go (to avoid shipping charges) and it lasts about 7 month for me. No problem.

Dishwashing powders are mostly a mixture of Soda and Sodium phosphate. I planned to do some DIY but didn't get home ministry's approval :(.

Gets the job done as good or as bad as the normal IFB detergent that we normally use. This is with dishwasher salt and rinse aid in thier respective compartments. Though I moved to white vinegar for rinse aid years ago.

Can someone please recommend a fully automatic front load washing machine with dryer function ?

Capacity I am looking for is around 7 kg as we are family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

Would prefer to buy from Amazon.

Most of the machines listed online don't have dryer facility it seems.

Most of the automatic front load washing machines will come with spin drying, but this isn't a 100% dryer function. If you want 100% drying go for a separate dryer.
We have the Siemens 7kg model IQ300 series WM12K269IN (1200 rpm). Almost all Siemens models have an equivalent model from the Bosch range as well (minor differences in the programs and I think the main control panels of both are built separately by Siemens and Bosch but share other mechanical parts and assembly).

Many professional reviews recommend against combined washers + dryers, due to a higher frequency of reliability issues and failures.

Like NPV said, go in for a separate washer and dryer (either ducted, or condenser). You can either place them side by side, or stack them one atop the another. If you get a Bosch or Siemens washer + dryer, they sell a "stacking kit" which basically screws into the top "MDF" board of the washer, and locks the legs of the dryer into it. This would ensure that regular vibrations from either appliance wouldn't cause the dryer to slide off.

I have a separate 8 kg washer and a 7 kg ducted dryer from Bosch, and am very pleased with both.

If you are still specific about a combined washer + dryer (convenience, space constraints), then here's a Bosch model on Amazon that costs half a lakh for 8 kg washing / 5 kg drying (but take a look at the verified purchase reviews on it): https://www.amazon.in/Bosch-Washer-D...dp/B00ZCJRXOK/.

Also, bear in mind that for a little more than the 50k cost of the Bosch washer + dryer, you can get individual Bosch appliances, or if you pick the IFB dryer, you can hit the same price point.
