It is when the climate isn't going to do most of the hard work anyway. The machine should flop the clothes around a bit at the end, to help minimise the creasing.

Back in London, 1200 spin was a blessing! My clothes would be dry in a day or so, inside the house with no heating. It's good for iron-dry too.

I'd forgotten this. Last week, I washed a couple of silk vestis (dhotis) and span at 800, thinking it would be fine for ironing. Our Ironing lady said, No, too wet; let them dry a bit first. In a fit of bravado I said I'd do it myself then! Long hard work. The second one was still moist after I finished, and I gave it to her to do again. It came back looking new: much better than my effort!

Purchased 2 pieces of LG 8068LDP Front Loading Washing Machine this week.
Thank you all for your suggestions and feedback. I managed to bring down the price to 21,700/- . Not sure if its good but considering the prices offered by some dealers this definitely looked competitive. Some more electronic stuff planned to be purchased this week.

Any views on electric cookers ? Need one to cook basic food for an infant while travelling.

I have a panasonic rice cooker at home. Its a different model without the keep warm mode.

The only advice is to wash the rice really well to get rid of starch before cooking it. Incorrect water level can cause staining at the base of the dish.

What will u cook with this? For cerelac, a kettle works perfectly!

Looking to boil veggies. Maybe cook daliya !

They are great for rice, boiled vegetables, boiled egg, some boiled dals (red lentils). You can also make Maggi (without the tastemaker) or Knorr soups in it too. You can even make chicken stew in it. I used to carry one when my son was 2-3 years old. Get a separator - they are sold extra, comes handy.

Hello All.. any suggestions on good brand of Refrigerator ?
I checked Panasonic but was quite disappointed by the minimal space allocated for Vegetable box :Frustrati though the bottom freezer was a boon. Electrolux has served us quite well since past 8-10 years but not sure if it still is equally good as the number of models are quite less. any feedback ?
Finally I am trying to decide between the below 3 models
1) LG GL-35VVG4 ( 320L)
2) Samsung RT32CDLB1/XTL or RT35CDLB1/XTL
3) Whirlpool Protton 300L Delux
We liked Whirlpool but unfortunately there is no energy rating available for 3 door refrigerator and with a substantially big veg. box, it meant lack of refrigerator space & door space
LG & Samsung look all similar except the door cooling technology of LG and better service.
Any feedback on the above 3 refrigerators would be highly appreciated.

Will be buying a Panasonic 414L tomorrow. About 32k.

+1 We have a godrej running without any trouble for over 10 years now. Purchased it at an Industrial Exhibition.

10 year old (and 20-30 year old), refrigerators were all old tech with barely any electronics. Most of them are still in service.

It is the newer models with loads ol electronics, heaters and other gizmos that give the most trouble. Compressors rarely blow, but electronics do so regularly. Most of my refrigerators had run 20 years before I gave them away, but now I hear a lot of complaints of "Circuit Board" is gone sir.
