Exide EL6+ 130AH Fully Tubular battery (5 Yr Warranty) @ Rs. 13000 x 2
Total @ Rs. 34,000/= (Incl. Taxes)

I am ok with them except for the following:
1) The Batteries are quite big and both cannot be fitted into a single trolley / Cover.

2) When the inverter is powered on and is in idle mode (no discharge or charging happening), there is a faint high pitch noise (similar to that buggy monsoon nights). For me thats quite irritating despite having installed the set-up in a secluded place. I am ok with mild noise when charging or discharging but not when in idle mode.

I learnt from my vendor that this is common phenomenon for inverters above 1KVA. It seems there is an addional coil for cooling purpose. This coil is mated to an IC that yells out at high frequency.

Please let me know if any of you have experienced the same and if there is any work around for this.

Thanks.
Please tell me the serial number of exide battery and does it really comes with 5 years warrant? as i have not seen this anywhere in exide site having a 5 year warranty!

I think the name is Exide Premium EL+ tubular. You can ask your dealer to arrange one for you, but you will have to be sure about the charging of your inverter. Exide says clearly that this battery should not be used with inverters, but only ups. it is because ups has got better charging, trickle, float charging. etc. so using this battery with improper charger can easily void the warranty. it would be better if you buy with battery and the inverter from the same company, since the warranty will be their headache then.

Happy powercut

I don't know at which capacity you are interested in.

Our ages old 2800Kw generator consumes about 7L of kerosene for about 4.5 hrs.

These generators use petrol to start and run on kerosene. Petrol consumption is negligible.

Got myself a Microtek EB UPS 850 VA and a SF Sonic Battery PBX1500 - 150 AH. The cost breakup as below
Microtek UPS - 5500
Battery - 9700
Wiring & Installation - 1500

The entire deal was done through an authorized Exide battery dealer who is known to me. The whole set up took about 5 hrs - 3 hrs for fabrication & fixing the support, 1 hr for wiring, 1 hrs for UPS/Battery installing with testing.

Is it with batteries or without?

I got a 800 VA Sinewave Microtek for 8 or 9 K couple of years back.

This price should be with the battery. APC 800VA inverter price is Rs.5538/- (at Metro Cash & Carry), the balance must be for the battery.
What is the rating of the battery you have ordered for?

I was told it's APC battery. No idea about rating. How about the local one? RPC-1600va with 2 batteries for 15550. APC Autopower is delaying delivery.

Always go with branded batteries.. Why dont you check with other brands like microtek, su-kam.

APC has a tie up with Prestolite batteries, they do not have one under their own brand.

I have just bought a Xenon Ace inverter system with 2 120Ah tubular batteries. The system is a 1400va system where the load supported is 1100 Watts.

Total cost came to 26300 with 1000/- for installation and wiring. The trolley costs another 1800 and is not in stock though! The inverter has a 2 year warranty and the batteries come with 3 year warranty. Cost of individual components is:
Inverter: 9100/
Battery (120 Ah Tubular): 10100/
