Re: The Keyboard Thread : Pics, advice, recommendations

Of course as an old timer I have been using mechanical keyboards in the '80s '90s and early '00s before membrane keebs came in a big way. All with the clicky keys but then I never bothered to check what they had back then.

After what seemed eternity with membrane keebs, the mechanical keeb bug bit me last year when I purchased a MX Mechanical from Logitech a freakishly expensive niche product for a price that isn't really justifiable. But then curiosity got the better of me and it was mine in few days along with 2 MX Keys membrane keebs that I was able to purchase at a significant discount from Croma. I was interested in the MX Mechanical Mini too but Logitech is ripping us off here.

I enjoyed typing with both the MX Keys and MX Mechanical (red linears) and settled down with the mech model. The MX Keys were wrapped up and packed back into the box for safe keeping after charging them to about 60%.

And then it happened..a friend of mine had a mechanical keeb I think the RK84 TKL and invited me to try it out. And boy, I loved it from the word go.
The bug bit hard again and I got myself a Keychron K4 Pro (brown Keychron K Pro switches) and a K8 Pro (with Gateron G Pro Brown switches for use with the laptop) and I can't believe how enjoyable they are to use even compared the 2x more expensive Logitech MX Mechanical. Consider me a new entrant to the hobby. I have my eyes on the Keychron Q series too but I want a 100% layout which isnt available here unfortunately and its simply too expensive to import from overseas. Anyway that can wait.
