Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Along with an Oximeter a non-contact Digital Thermometer was very much required. I had ordered the Mijia from mi and it's just great. A single button and you have your reading right there

Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Guys, please be sure to buy genuine products from reputable brands only:

When a worried Andheri resident purchased an oxymeter, he only intended to monitor the oxygen level of his loved ones and himself in the pandemic. But he was shocked when he happened to clip it to a pencil, and it read both its oxygen level and heart rate! Kushal Dhuri, who works for a political party, is furious with the China-made device, and says people should stop buying oxymeters that are made in China.

Just checked my pencil and it is not breathing. No pulse either. RIP my beloved pencil.

Seriously these guys should work in testing / QA departments.

Seems like a political stunt as he works for a political party as per the article. While it is true one should buy products from reputable brands, it is impossible to find a device that is not made in China in this case.

Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Sure. I got it from this site as it's just not available anyplace else. And I wanted only this as my cousins have it from USA. The product arrived with its packaging open, and batteries removed so that's not done. I was cross with Furper.com but the Product, being brilliant, redeemed itself completely. Works well! So please see if someone is returning from overseas to get that for you. I'd recommend that.

Believe it or not, my uncle had a dual-sim feature phone which would have 100% battery for 3 days, jump to 50% of the 4th day and randomly die. The measurement indicator was garbage and never worked with even with a replacement battery.

If you buy absolute junk from China, they will just NOT work. Seems like many low end electronics makers are cashing in on the demand of Oximeters and churning out garbage.

After this last post of mine back in early July, I could not find Omron or Dr Trust branded Pulse Oximeters online, so was looking for other options. A doctor friend referred me to one of his hospital's vendors and I got this for Rs.1800

Contents of the product packaging
Pulse Oximeter recommendations?-pulse-oxi.jpg

Needs 2 AAA batteries, decent build quality, it works just fine (no hard-coded readings!), and yes it doesn't give readings for non-living beings like pencils, pens and the like

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have risked it seeing the contents of the package - absolutely no mention of a brand or manufacturer anywhere, in fact the box has a placeholder box saying "Label" so looks like a contract manufacturer made product for white labeling with known brand.

The vendor mentioned these are imported from Germany (Really ? I'm not so sure about this).

It looks like a made in China product. I have one that looks exactly the same. Funny part is I bought it in Germany and company listed it on amazon.de was also a German one. I bought it by paying more than others expecting a made in Germany product

It passed pencil/pen test with flying colours.

There are two models of Dr Trust Oximeters listed in Flipkart at Rs 2849 and Rs 2999 respectively, with additional 10% discount on Citi cards. However, please do due diligence on authencity.

Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Any idea about this Sansui one available on Amazon?

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08DTBVC1Q/

It is worth buying Sansui?
Viewed Medtech, but in reviews I am seeing many people reporting fake ones.
This one is being sold by Sansui

Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Saw an ad for this oximeter by Gilma. I think the brand is trustworthy and the price reasonable. I don't know much about the actual product, or about the site, thought of sharing :

The Gilma brand is associated with Kitchen accessories like stove tops and chimneys, please check if they're really selling this (there should be a mention on their website I guess). If not, someone else could be misusing their brand.
Product is most likely yet another Chinese made one with some other branding/badging

Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

I've ordered Dr Trust's 210 model from their website directly. It is retailing for Rs 3000.

Hopefully they'll dispatch it soon enough. Got an email for registering an account and the order confirmation.
