Hey everyone,
Looking to buy a TV for the new house.
1. The viewing distance is around 8 feet so i'm guessing something around 43" would suffice
2. Primary use case is OTT viewing so good wifi and memory capabilities are required. My preliminary research findings show 1/1.5 GB RAM with 8GB storage being offered for most TV's. I don't know whether this is sufficient or not - especially the RAM; I've heard of android TV's going slow with time.
3. My previous TV was a sony - really happy with the picture and sound so am a bit biased towards the brand.

Honestly, in all my research when buying TVs, no one's really talked about RAM and space. What you can ask for is refresh rate, the higher end TVs now come with 120 Hz refresh rate. But the problem is, the input signal for most OTTs is 60 Hz so actually makes the video worse.
I'd recommend getting at least a 55"; and LED should be just fine. If you are flexible with the budget, consider a QNED or even OLED.
I try to stick to LG/Samsung/Song, and unless you're getting an OLED (where LG is said to be better), there's no real perceivable difference between these three.
Hi,
My kiddo recently broke our Sony 55inch UHD TV which I had bought in 2022 for around 62k. Now the replacement cost of the panel is around 30k from neighborhood repair person. He has confirmed it will be original Sony panel.
However, I am in 2 minds whether to repair this TV or buy a new one. I am in no mood to spend anything above 40k. In fact I am willing to let the kids stay without TV for a while to wean them off binge watching for summers. But since parents do like watching TV might have to consider.
What is your take on this? should i buy a new TV or get this one repaired?
Thanks.

The cheapest 55-inch Sony Ultra HD 4K LED TV costs around 45k, moreover it may not be as good as the one you have, so getting your current one repaired seems the better option.
