Yes ofcourse! Expect all brands to introduce new lineup before/around olympics.

Samsung already had full HD line in India, it's just that they are pushing it more now.

I am however on look out for the new generation Panasonic/Pioneer Plasmas...
Pioneer black levels just rock, they are too too good, but expensive :(

This page seems to be Pro-Plasma..

I hope there are some benefits the LCD has over the Plasma also. Cause I have an LCD

Other than static resolution, I can't think of any. The results on that page are actual independent academic research projects and I'd trust them over web/magazine reviews.

Yes. smaller size, less power consumption, high resolution availability.

Until we can get HD feeds, Plasmas should be a good option. But by then we will get OLED TVs which will be better than Plasma or LCD in any aspect.

You also get Plasmas in Full HD so that is not really an issue!
OLED TVs are still struggling with their usable life issue, so that is not going to be out soon, and cheap soon :(

What I really like in Plasma is they are easier on eyes, they produce clean pictures even with noisy signals and have optimum brightness for home viewing.

Resolution wise LCD's static resolution doesn;t really hold good for motion scenes. During motion one gets about 1/2 to 1/3 resolution in reality depending on the shot, so there goes down the HD advantage. To be convinced, you should check out some of the independent studies done in this regard, they actually take pictures of motion scenes on both LCD and Plasma TVs and then compare the pics to determine the real visible resolution.

Even I would trust this review on this forum more than mags. One other advantage I can think of for LCD is lighter weight (apart from lower power consumption and better static resolution)

That is Dynamic Contrast range. I think Panasonic and Pioneer both already have such contrast ranges and better available.

Check this photo out - again an independent bloggers view on how good Plasmas are compared to LCD...

A while ago a top R&D executive from LG was in Las Vegas. He said that he has various LCD TVs in his house. But the bigger one in the living room was a Plasma.

Is there a 37 inch full HD? I thought full HD is only available at 42".

ST7677 - Any idea how much the Kuro costs? Also what's your time frame for buying the plasma. (I'm assuming you are buying a Plasma !!) If its end of year probably we can team up and join. I had my eyes on the PV70 for sometime. But if the Kuro is also within a reasonable price we could get that.
