I wanted to know if anyone else is using the same and whether it is an accessory worth purchasing. Would it support streaming video from my PC to TV via Wifi?
Streaming video on WiFi will work for normal DVD resolution, at the most 720p. With 1080p (HD) you need a faster transfer, possible only if the devices and the router support the "n" standard. The older "g" will not work for HD.

Thanks, SD streaming would do for now. More than the router support, I was worried about the sony USB adapter supporting HD streaming.

Quick Suggestion on LED vs LCD

I need quick suggestion for deciding between LCD and LED. I am planning to buy 32" LED or LCD for bedroom. My choices are

1. Samsung Series 6 LCD: LA32C630K1R
2. Samsung Series 5 LED: UA32C5000QM

My requirement is to have AllShare (Internet TV is optional) in TV and should be full HD. Prices difference of both LCD and LED is around 2K. I do not mind. I would like to know which is better LED or LCD for bedroom installation. Please suggest with your opinion.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

For that kind of price difference, regardless of the generation difference, it's a no brainer - LED panels are lighter, brighter and consumes less power & space. Especially for installs in bedrooms, where space is always a premium.

In 6 series LCD I am getting SRS Surround Sound, 100Hz refresh rate and few small features. In 5 series LED these two features are not available. Price difference for me is only 2K. LED being 2K costlier.

Series 6 LCD is newer model compare to Series 5 LED.

If you check official data, LED panels lighter than LCD maximum for 1 to 1.5 KG. Being slim it does not matter as with wall mount both LCD and LED comes to 240mm of depth from wall.

Also, power rating for both TV is 110 watt and during sleep mode 0.3 watt. I did not understand power saving with LED.

I have enough space in our bedroom as size of bedroom is 14.5 feet X 13.5 feet.

My question is for:
1. How much picture quality difference between LED and LCD?
2. Any viewing angle problem in either of the product?

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Ezone has an offer running on LG 42LE7500 going at 87k. In this, you get a 22" LCD along with the 42" LED.
Also, there is this samsung 3D LED (LED C7000) offer going at 88 K.

Just bought myself LG PJ560R for the world cup. Mightily impressed so far with Sky HD+ box and fantastic sound. Total hit = 50k (TV) + 4k (STB)

Does anyone know anything about Haier LED TVs?

I am looking for 40/42" and 32" LED TVs. I was surprised with quality of Haier LED TV. It was cheapest among the lot and still was better than LG and Panasonic. When asked, the salesman claimed that it is because of their poor brand value in India. Does anyone have any experience with Haier?

The general perception is that LEDs are more efficient than LCDs. I found this to be true with Sony. Their 40" LEDs are rated 99W whereas the LCDs are rated 150-160W.

Regarding picture quality, do a side by side comparison of the TVs with the same input source.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

Yesterday bought the Samsung 40C650 from Adishwar for 59K. Got only the Dish TV box as free. Is this a good price ?. Girias were quoting 63K as final and no freebies other than the Dish TV package.

Today they will deliver the TV and wants to know the stpes to see how many hrs it has been ON. Basically to check if it is a used or display unit.

Regards,
Gopi.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

The prices in the grey market for LCD's and LED's are relatively cheap now and are really tempting.

Sony 26" LCD is for Rs. 16700/-
Sony 32" LCD is for Rs. 21000/-
Sony 40" LCD is for Rs. 31500/-
Sony 40" LED is for Rs. 55000/-
Samsung 40"LED is for Rs. 43000/-

Hope this helps to the prospective buyer.
