That was a typo error. Thank you for correcting. The dealer is Raghu Chandra Enterprises near RTC 'X' roads.

Anyone who's owned any Haier LCD TV ? Any feedback on performance & Service ?
Recently saw the Haier Full HD 32 inch Model in TGIP NOIDA ( L32K3) - for 32k - they were ready to give it for 28 k in exchange for my 6 yr old TV. Am tempted - Also warranty is 1 yr + 2 yrs for panel ..

You will get Phillips, LG or Samsung in the same rate.

Also I would suggest you to go for 32'' HD ready than Full HD. Hardly makes any difference in a 32'' screen.

Guys, need urgent opinion

We have booked Sony 40NX500 for Rs. 60000. Is this a good buy? How is the TV?

LCD is preferred, we have 3 days to change the order if we want to. Any other option in similar price range and size?

Please advice.

Guys, is it true that Sony gets Panel and Tube from Samsung?

Between Samsung 40C530 and Sony 40NX500 which is a better buy?

The difference being Samsung is Rs. 10k less than Sony.

Please advice

Folks what I hear is that at 32 inch, one cannot make a difference between 720P and 1080P. If that is the case, the how come 32inch 1080P sets are popular and what are the reasons, people buy these sets?

At a distance it may be true. But face it 1080p has more pixels than 720p, so you will get better over all display.
When you can get 1080p panel why settle for 720. The price difference is not much, and in future 720p panels may not be available due to lower demand.

Thanks Ajoy. Another question. I finally was looking between Sony and Panasonic. Panasonic highest ends stands at 3.5K. While Sony Monolithic goes to 40K.

The I could not spot major picture differences, but one main difference was that Panasonic has no USB but SD card. While Sony has USB but no SD card.

In my opinion USB is more practical than an SD card.

Have others any experiences to share?

LCD / PLASMA Dilemma

Hi Huys,

I was planning to buy a LCD from Panasonic 42U20 during this Diwali offer for which I was given the final price of INR 46,000 without any exchange and for warranty of 3 years. How ever when visited the Panasonic brand showroom, the sales guy was able to convince me that the Panasonic Plasmas were better than the LCD's. These were the following points ..
( Compared to Plasma model 46U20 HD ready , final price of INR 63,500 )
  • Price is cheaper
  • Panel life is more ( 1,00,000 hours compared to LCD's 60,000 hours)
  • veiwing angle depth is fantastic compared to LCD
  • Pictures more realistic than LCD, Cooler tone
  • The brightness of the pictures seemed a bit dull compared to LCD, but only when the plasma was seen, it was very good.
  • I was given proper explanations that the Panasonic Plasma Technology is the best in the market.
  • All along I was thinking that the LCD's were better for which the sales guy also agreed, but enough reasons were given that the plasmas were better than the LCD's and the pictures proved the point .
  • Power consumption of plasma & LCD is almost the same , may be plasma's is hifher by 10 ~ 15% , which is negligible.
I am now in a dilemma on what to buy now ? May be I will have wait till Christmas / New year for the similar offers to come up again.

Meanwhile I would very much appreciate the inputs on my above points .

No reviews on any of these LCD? I thought it must be selling good as they are mid-range LCDs.

Any user of 40C530 or 40NX500 here?

REgards,
Buddy, if you take the trouble of reading the posts right from the beginning (which I'm sure anybody planning on spending 50 K would), you'll realize that all the points are true, except the last one. Plasmas are power-hoggers compared to LCDs/ LEDs.

Samsung LA40C630K1R!

On Diwali eve I watched Avatar HD Blu-ray Rip on our new Samsung LA40C630. Boy Oh! Boy!!! True theater feel. Awesome quality. It plays all formats from USB Pendrive.

Few Cons as per me

Picture settings are not saved (for TV Mode). On every restart the screen shows digital noise on/off demo on left and right side.

Some channels are very blurred (low signal from frustrating SUN Digital SD Box). Waiting fro TataSky HD to arrive in Delhi.

NB: Viewing distance - 11'.

Cheers!

Vinu

Lg 42 Led

Bought 42" LG LED on 15 May 10. It Costed aprx. 52K.

However it comes with only 1 year warranty. Additional/Extended warranty can be purchased at 7000/- per year for 3 years. Query is - is it required? Shall i expect flawless performance atleast for 4-5 years?

In mean time , installed some LED on it and looks nice while viewing. Here is pic (with TV Off).

Will post exact model shortly.

What makes you tell that the plasmas are power hoggers? Are you going by the rated power consumption?

check these links for the panny X20D model:
Panasonic X20 review - FlatpanelsHD
What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision - Power consumption

the calibrated average power consumption for latest plasmas is less than the lcds of similar size. the LEDs are better though.
