Through a friend i got a quote from Panasonic distributor and he offered 42V20 for 62.5K. I think i will take this offer.

It is not easy to let go 3 years warranty on Panasonic. My parents 32" Samsung LCD gave up just out of 1 year warranty and the service center quoted 25K to replace a board. But we got a free replacement that too of a higher series through a cousin who owns Samsung ASC in Vizag.
I got P42V20D for 58k here in Mumbai from Kohinoor electronics, Vashi.
(My friend got it for 57k a month back) Dont know if you have Kohinoor chain at your place. But if it is there, do check it out.
P.S : And no its not a demo piece. I checked for any wall mounting marks etc.

Nice thread and I am following this since quite long. I had almost finalized to go for Sony KLV-40EX400 and only offer we get is free wireless headphones.
Now the confusion started since last 2 months due to Croma LCD. I don't know the model name but Croma offers 42 inch LCD @ 49,990, any suggestions on that?

I am not able to get any review in this thread or on other websites too, but any suggestions please?

I know all +/- of it but only concern I have is: is itworth?

Please don't compare it like Maruti Vs Benz.

Thanks,
Pradip.

Recommend a TV(Plasma/LCD) for Home viewing, mainly for DTH, Movies, PC connectivity.Viewing distance will be 6-8 feet, not more then that. Preferable size range is 22"-32", Budget is up to 40k.
I don't change my home alliances frequently,I'll like to use this TV for atleast 7-8 yrs.Taking this into consideration I will prefer a TV with good expansion and connectivity featuers like HDMI,HD etc, basically future ready.
Plz suggest/ recommend!

Not sure if 32 inch sizes are capable of HD images. You may have to look for a bigger one.

Thanks DJKHER

Got my BIL to check the Plasma - it is priced at Rs.57 or 58k, but is the older version.

As mentioned - we saw a new version (Pana Plasma) at Hypercity and the best price was Rs.72500/- but the sales guy said he will get it down to about 70k.

We were also told that it was the latest panel from Pana.....etc. etc. I will confirm more details to you tomorrow on the same

Cheers

Sony 32EX400
or
Samsung 32C530

Both are full HD LCD within 35K.

Thanks for quick suggestions, I have read some concerns regarding Sony's product QC and After Sales support(Repair and Service cost), I would like to keep Sony out of bracket as of now.Panasonic is offering three years warranty on their TV's, Is it for Plasma only or it covers LCD as well?
I have read good reviews about X42 something...it's a plasma TV.

Panasonic is offering 3 year warranty for the LCDs also.

IMO c530 is better but with Samsung there is the panel lottery.

Check this:

32 inch lcd - Google Search

Don't think that would be possible with current crop pf LCD / Plasma panels. Do not expect it to last beyond 4 - 5 years.

Even TV companies would not provide paid warranty beyond 5 years.

X20 is 2010 model and S10 is 2009.
They both are 42 inches and you want 32 inches.
Dont go for sony as their A.s.s is pathetic.

Best bet is samsung or panasonic lcd. Also check philips lcds as some of them are really good.
