Did you consider LG LD 650? Some people are saying it is better than LH60YR. I am not convinced. Will buy LH60 soon.

From where did you buy it? When? Price? Feedback?

Well DTH is Standard Defination or SD only couple of channels are HD so it is comparable.

Well then some one need to explain why CRT does not look best ? Any way read a few posts back on why I say this but each to his own. If plasma looks good to you buy it but Panasonic, Sony world , Chroma and Reliance Digital are with in 100 meters of my home ,I have checked out several times during my evening/weekend stroll and could not see why some one should buy Panasonic plasma so often recommended here just for picture quality , If there are other considerations then I don't know.

Well just an update, I went and checked it out, yes picture quality is horrible but then it has more to do with cable than the TV. She will try to acquire a digi box for the cable now, DVDs seem ok (although the Moser-baer which she had had poor resolution). Again I blame the signal rather than the piece being faulty. Sound is o.k, did some EQ and my sister was fine with it. Now perhaps to add a speaker/amp system to it in the future and some hi-quality DVDs and this could turn out fine.

I got it from Croma for 58K, 2 months back. I prefer LCDs to Plasma. Obvious reasons.

Rs.58000 seems good comparing company price of Rs.69,900/-?
How is the sound quality -700w pmpo?
and how about the Bass effect?

The sound quality is good. I have TATA sky HD which delivers 5.1 dolby which compliments the 5.1 theatre surround in the TV. The Bass effect is good but i adjust based on my preference. My living room is kinda huge, so I had asjusted the factory settings based on my requirement. For me, it was a VFM which also offered xVid/DIVx playback along with 200 hz true motion sensor.

@MutantX - your report encouraging me to consider this model.
Initially, I have shortlisted Sony klv-46ex400 and LG42lh60yr, but then almost took decision to go for sony 46ex400. Wify wants LG (she is not conerned with features etc) as we have a LG CRT 29'' bought 9 years back and still rocking).
I have still one week time to decide but looks like 42LH60yr seems the one I may
finalise!

Booking Samsung 40c550 model

I am finally going for the LCD model. I have asked them to deliver Samsung 40C550. Is anybody using this model, can you please share the + and -

I wanted to go for 40c650 model but the price was 10k more than c550 and the differences were not major and i hope i can live without those.

Congrats DSC customs on your new tv.

^^10k gives you potentially a better panel, 100Hz and DLNA. Worth it IMHO.

Hi All,
Need some help deciding on my next TV. I am interested in buying a 46 / 47 inch TV. I was really interested in the LG 47 LH90 but I hear they have discontinued it. Are there any LED backlit local dimming LCD TVs available in the market right now?

Thanks in advance.

The major differences are: 40c650 v/s 40c550
1. Dynamic contrast ratio 240000 v/s 150000
2. Motion Hertz 100 v/s 50
3. Internet TV capability in c650
4. ultra Clear Panel in C650

Will these be a huge difference in picture quality between the two tv's?

Also, anybody planning to buy samsung products in chennai, please check the Samsung Plaza in Perungudi, OMR Road, guys there are quoting very competitive prizes compared to ezone, croma etc. and open for best deals.

harry Ill tell you what to do. Go online and research the prices of the model you are looking at. Find the lowest price in the past month or so given by a large store chain like chroma, ezone, Vijay sales. Then go to them with the lowest price quote giving them the details of the city and the date in which it was purchased. Use your convincing powers then to make them agree to that rate for you as well. From what I ahve heard Samsung has come down heavily on certain chains for giving the TVs at a much lesser price than their own Samsung Plazas and have told them to strictly adhere to the quoted prices so you might be in a bit of a spot while bargaining.
