I think LED is a new technology in the tv market so they are asking greater price for obvious reasons (for the money spent by the R&D department in making and designing them ) . Atleast this is what i presume . I could be wrong though .Yeah power consumption is somewhat on a higher side if you compare the two but i dont think that will bother a customer that much considering spending some good amount on a tv .
Yes EX400 also has ambient sensors and all the things you mentioned including the weight part. Oh and ya one of the LED ones had some Youtube videos thing also . So it all depends upon the purpose . Ex400 has been giving me good quality outputs with the normal cable as well .
I think ex400 would be good enough and also you get 46" screen for a lesser price .
+
The rate quoted to me by the shop guy is Rs.84000/- .So possibly I can get some more discount once things are finalised. Also I wanted to go to another shop and see their offer. Or I may wait a week or so as one of kerala's great festival is around the corner and all products will come with good/competitive offer

I quite agree with you - the difference in features between the two(ex600 and ex400) are minimal with only the power consumption comes in important point but then we are not going to watch tv all day and night.
with some compromise on the power consumption, the preference is for
ex400 because the extra 6'' screen which is the good attraction (since my living room area is around 20X14' so this will fit nicely!).
So at the moment I am for 46ex400 -SONY

Am highly confused between plasma Sammy C450 and Panasonic A20.
C450- 43k
A20- 45k.

C450 has a usb and A20 doesnt but then Panasonic gives 3 year warranty and Sammy 1.
Help,what to do!

Also X20- 43k.
Difference between X20 and A20- A20 has 2 extra speakers and one extra hdmi.
Worth it?

I had bought an LCD recently and have been having some trouble with the set top box sound. There is a humming and the horizontal waves that appear when i connect to the hathway box. Looking around the internet, came to know that this is caused due to "ground loop effect" and people have recommended using a ground loop isolator which goes into the cable coax input.
Have been looking around for this part, but no one seems to have it. Its available in amazon for $20, but not so sure about getting it from the US.
Has anyone has similar issue? Any idea on where i can source this product from?
Haven't checked out SP road yet.

Guys I am planning to buy a Samsung 32C530. Present price being quoted is 39K. Anyone knows a better place in Delhi to pick one up at a lesser price? Plus any owners on board here who can comment on it? When it says it has usb play back from the ntfs hdd, does it mean I can download movies onto my hdd and play them directly through the usb port? How is it in comparison to a sony EX400?

I too want to buy a 32" LCD. Was almost firm on LG 32LH60. Since then I have been advised to consider Samsung 32C550 also. Now you mention C530. I am in a dilemma.

Why are you going for this particular LCD. Any market survey?

The differences between C530 and C550 are minor for the price difference of about 3K. In case you are not on a budget then I suggest go for the C550, but in my case C530 is fulfilling all my needs and costs less hence the choice.
Why Samsung? Because the more I ahve read about them the more I like them. I got the sets to play the SD and HD content both and liked the crisp and sharper pictures of the Sammy, plus you get to play a lot of formats through the USB unlike the Sony one which plays only the mpeg1 and 2 formats only. Whats the quote you are getting for C550 in Chennai. Here its for about 42K or so while C530 is about 39K.

I got my C550 for 38500, so i guess a 530 should come much cheaper. Bargain well and get the right price.

NEW DELHI: Aiming to enhance its position in the Indian LCD television market, Japanese firm Panasonic has kicked off a price war, bringing its latest 32 inch model at a price cheaper by about Rs 6,000 than those of rivals.

The company, which is targeting sales of Rs 3,000 crore this year, is expecting that 25 per cent of its sales will come from its newly launched 32 inch LCD model '32C22', priced at Rs 24,000, about 20 per cent less than those of its competitors in same category.

"In volume sales, we expect to increase our share from 7 per cent to 10 per cent by November this year," Panasonic India Director Marketing Manish Sharma told.

The company had a revenue of Rs 2,200 crore last year. The Indian flat panel television market is estimated to be around 3.6 million units annually. Dominant players include by Korean majors Samsung and LG, and Japan's Sony.

"Panasonic 32C22 is affordable and eco-friendly. It has been specially made for India. The price of it is 20 per cent less what is currently available in the market. Normally, a 32 inch LCD cost around Rs 29,000 to Rs 30,000," he said.

In order to push sales of the newly launched 32 inch LCD TV, Panasonic is taking up a brand awareness campaign 'Sound for India' targeting tier II and tier III cities.

The campaign, which will cover 70 cities across the country till 10 September 2010 by a caravan, will also promote local talents in music.

The USD-79 billion Japanese firm sells home appliances range, washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners in India besides television.

Vijay Sales has now offered to give the C530 for 32K. Now I am being greedy and thinking if there is still further scope, hehe.

I'm looking for a Panasonic TH-P42V20D (42" Plasma), went to the Panasonic brand shop and Devi electronics at Jayanagar both quoted 67K all inclusive (of VAT, Installation and 3 yrs warranty). Is this a good price ? Any better deals in Bangalore.
I read somewhere that these were selling for 61K in chennai. A bit perplexed and confused right now, help.

@pmbabu: yes I did and according to some of the reviews I found on the net, they preferred Samsung to LG. Plus LD460 is going around 35K so when Sammy is being given for 32K it makes the case even more. Now the dilemma is if a Samsung LED 32c5000 can be had for 39K is it a worth going for deal?

Just paid an upfront advance for my Panasonic TH-50V20. Fabulous TV. Will be getting the delivery at the end of this month or the beginning of next month by choice. Buying a lot of equipment this month, hence no place to keep all this stuff in a new house that is still being readied..
