No difference but they have versions depending upon the year of manufacture. Supposed to be backward compatible but not for vice versa.

Then does it mean I can use my HDMI output from DVD player to input to the LCD monitor and watch video?

Ofcourse, the audio I use it through different connectors.

Basically, I saw a ACER LCD monitor with HDMI input yesterday and was curious to know if I can use it for this purpose.

I was going through the specifications of Sony TV model KLV 40EX600.
besides usual functions, this tv consume only 87W power which is very very low comparing other lcd's and plasma's and those average power consumptions are 165W and above?
I think this model has got LED backlight module whereas other models have CCFL.
However the company price of this model is Rs.93000/- (46 inch lcd tv -model KLV-46EX400 costs only 88900/, and also KLV-40EX500 model is available at Rs.73,900).

Any suggestions please?

^^Edge LED lit LCDs don't have much to offer over CCFL LCDs. The premium is totally unjustified. Get the EX400 or EX500 if you must have a sony.

But on the CCFL LCD's the power consumption is almost double comparing LED LCD's??
am not very particular to buy SONY but need a good 40/42 inch LCD with good features/specifications (like to have PIP and auto on functions?)

Just got the samsung 32C550 - the newer version from samsung plaza. Was surprised to know that it is owned by Adishwar as well. Cost me 38.5K. I think i should have bargained more and could have brought it lower still.
Anyone have experience purchasing from Adishwar? The delivery is scheduled for tomorrow, anything to watch out for at the delivery? If the seal of the box is broken, do i accept the delivery? Any pointers to watch out to ensure it was not an in-store item?

Yes for video and not sure for audio. Better try before buy.

HI folks - any feedback on LG 32 LD540? It isn't listed in LG India website, but was on display at Croma. I felt that it had good black levels, better than most other LCDs on display.

Also there was just one model in Philips (5609) on display and the salesmen indicated that model refresh is on the cards. Any inputs?

The LG LD series seems to be a good one. I bought a 42LD460 for 49K. I compared it to Sammsung 42C550 at the showroom, and found the LG pretty impressive. I went looking for the Samsung B550, but nobody seems to have it in stock.

Which 42" LCD?

Hi all,

I am looking to buy a 42" LCD which is full HD, is from a reputed and reasonable quality company and costs around 55K.

I have gone through this entire thread and have a fair idea of the specs.

The few products I have seen repeated again and again on this thread are: -

LG 42 LH 60 YR
SAMSUNG LF 20 FR
LG LF 20 FR
PANASONIC 42 C10 S

I am sure there are many more.

Can someone guide me for final purchasing decision.

Got the samsung 32C550 delivered. great clarity and sound, but now that i see, i feel that 32" was a bit smaller for my room... i should have gone for a 40" probably...
So anyone interested in a 32" a few days old?

Dude you can go for the 42 LH 60 YR. LG is VFM product which has all good features at reasonable entry cost. I have 42 LH 60. It comes with 5.1 theatre surround, USB DIVx playback capability and the pictures are stunning on TATA Sky HD! Samsung is also good, but a little pricey.

+1 Even I have the LH60 and it's one of the best LCDs that has great sound too. There's no need of buying a separate home-theatre with this (unless you're a sound buff and want that experience). I have friends who have a Samsung TV and they have to keep the volume at 60-70 to get good audio while I can achieve the same at just 25-30!

Probably you can post it on classified on T-BHP. More chances for prospective buyers to visit there than this thread.

Thank for your guidance. A number of other people have also recommended it to me. Must be good.

Can you quote its major specifications, the price you paid for it and the place/source you bought it from.

P.S - And BTW which are the other models that you shortlisted before you bought this one?
