Oh, goody! Please start a thread debating the pros and cons of tube amps so that Navin Saar gets a chance to strut his stuff, and we get the chance to pick his brains! Now that Arcam/Cadence stuff is available locally, I'm looking to set up a really FLAT sounding rig! Although, like cameras, the input and the output ends are where you should really put your money, or so the purists claim! The amps are just "black" boxes!

@ vista_qjd

Where did u get the quote for LA32B550 for 40k? I got a quote from samsung plaza for 42k and at adishwars at 42.5k. Both offered me airtel DTH for 2 k extra but i declined.

Am also considering the sony v series 32inch. Adishwars quoted me 42.9k (400rs more than samsung).

Yesterday, due to peer pressure I ended up buying an LG 42LH60 Jazz Theater for Rs.64,400/-(MRP Rs.73,990) at Tata Croma. Less 5% cash-back on Master card (Max. Rs.750), the effective price comes to Rs.63,650. The only freebie is the 50 DVD pack.

A sudden change from 32" to 42" has rattled me since all the homework done on the 32" had gone into the waters. Now I have to wait and see how good it holds in its actual environ, when it is delivered and installed.

Reliance\Chroma\E Zone gave a 40K after some bargain. Croma\Reliance looked better because they offer extended warranty for 2K. Looking at the stories of issues with the LCDs, I think extended warranty is a very good option to have.

Why the V series? I thought there was not much difference b/w samsung and sony. And external look wise, i think samsung beats sony hands down. Was recently visiting a friend and his V series looked very dated.

These prices are after exchange or a direct price for the TV? Here in Pune Sammy B430 after 29" CRT is for 41K while LG would be at 40K I guess.

Modern World, Domlur quoted a price of 40K sometime back. I am going there either today or tomorrow to check out the prices. A couple of my friends are buying. If you want to join in, I can haggle.

@neoonwheels - all prices without any exchange., inclusive of taxes , delivery, installation & wall mounting. additional 3- 4k reduction possible if 29 inch crt is exchanged.

@csentil - thx. count me in. LG 42 PQ 70 is my preferred choice as of now. ( feel the picture quality for SD/ satellite TV is much better in LG than Pana after extensive demos in many shops . Pana C10 is a bare bone plasma , as against LGs PQ 70 which is loaded in features )

only problem PQ 70 is not in stock anywhere & have been told of a waiting period is 2 - 3 weeks.

Had been to Panasonic showroom. I got a price of 42K for the C10. I'm not sure we'll buy the LG. Haven't visited Modern World yet. Will check it out tomorrow.

a good choice would be x14 VIErA TH-P42X14A 42" (106cm) HD Digital Plasma TV [TH-P42X14A] - Panasonic Australia - not sure if it is available in india - got my sis to buy one of those in aussie and it beats all lg/sammy plasmas in it's price range

PS - also beats LCDs in similar/twice price range and yeah true LEDs (pixel illuminated) are still 3 times as much pricier :-)

Best Price I could find was 40 K for Pana C 10 & 42 K for LG PQ 70

Pulled the trigger on LG.( they also have a finance option, where EMI is 42k / 18 months , & down payment of 4 such EMIs, for an additional processing fee of Rs. 500 )

The picture clarity & detailing is amazing with tata sky . Audio is also quite good . Very happy till now.
