I was just thinking about timeline. Old dogs like us have been using mobile phones for about 15-16 years now. I remember when it used t be 16 bucks a minute, incoming lol
And I CANNOT remember all my phones lol. I remember a siemens S4 power and a motorola flip phone.
Sounding like an old fogey, these phones were very useful, if you flung them on someone he would die of the injury. Great self-defence products. Something that our Samurai can appreciate.

If you're talking about mobiles used IN India (since you mentioned 16 bucks - it was actually Rs.16.80 per minute + 15% Service Tax) you could only have been using it for a MAX of 10 years, i.e., since 1996.

Anyway the list for me is too long to remember (I still can, with a bit of effort ), starting with the humble Motorola MicroTac. So I'll pass.

Here is my history -

Year 2001 - Motorola T250
Year 2002 - Nokia 8310 - had been flicked from a pub
Year 2003 - Siemens - a low end model as I was very upset with loss of 8310
Year 2004 - Sony Ericsson Tsomething - Stolen from Car
Year 2005 - Nokia 2100
Year 2006 - Motorola L6

The first one Motorola T250 was the most expensive and very geeky. It had a built in answering system, infrared support, Tri-Band, voice dialing, voice recording / note feature etc... The following one Nokia 8310 had built in FM receive and had to pay heavy premium for that feature. Since then, I've stopped indulging in spending frenzy on mobiles.

I got a nice surprise myself while composing this post that I've been purchasing a new phone every single year consistently for one reason or other.
