My new Performance station

This bad boy came in very recently. I ordered the desktop via Dell.com, but then got a good discount via a phone call to their Bangalore office.

Specs:

- Optiplex 755 series
- Core2Duo 2.33 GHz 1333 MHz FSB
- Two 250GB Hard-disks running on Raid 1 (exact mirror)
- 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM
- 20 inch LCD at 1680 x 1050 res.
- 3 year onsite warranty
- Usual list of DVD-rw, multimedia keyboard, premium mouse etc.

Obviously I chose XP Pro over Vista. Man, working is fun now!

oh great! bought something similar from DELL.COM recently..
only difference was went for the VOSTRO 200 series.. with the money saved - went for a bluetooth mouse/keyboard and 22" monitor ( now reading and posting in TBHP is really comfortable !!)

You use that for work! Man! With a 4 GB ram, even Vista would run as fast as DOS. Nice sleek set up.

A wireless keyboard and a mouse would have been an apt tick on the options list perhaps

I would have gone in for 22 inch LCD or even 24 inch . 22 inch is like 13 k .
4GB on windows xp pro is overkill . Also xp cannot address 4 gb . Your wasting ram there .Will be useful when you upgrade to vista.
Nonetheless great system .I like the dell for there service and build quality .

Can you tell how much was the final bill ?

It is just a volume control knob. Quite a useful thing.
