@mugen : Good purchase there. The xbox360 controller for pc is really really good. However the drivers that come with it,are HORRIBLE to say the least.Check out the XBCD drivers from here. They're much much better and configurable.

I am building an AMD based mid range gaming PC. Need your suggestions, is this OK?

AMD X2 3600+
MSI K9NGM2 (socket AM2)
Seagate 250GB SATA II
Dynet 512MB*2 DDR2 667 MHZ
Sparkle 7600GT 256MB DDR2
Samsung SyncMaster 798MB+
LG DVDRW
Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1
Logitech keyboard and mouse
Zebtronics Gaming Cabinet with SMPS
Microtech 600VA UPS
Gaming Pad (suggest please!)

Also when are the DX10 cards coming? I may go for 7600GS instead of GT if they are coming in near future with good price tag.

I think it is fine ....but can i ask why a amd.....i know later in the Q3 the new amd cpu will come out which will be quite fast and will be more than the C2D.....

the 7600gt is a good card....it is a mainstream card you will be satisfied but it...for the dx10 it will take time to get cheap and the game to be launched....so i think you will be happy with a 7600gt for a year or more....

Hi LBM.

AMD because c2d+mobo combination for similar config costs about 5k more, and i don't find too much of performance advantage to justify 5k. Dont want to wait till Q3 to upgrade!

BTW, can you recommend some good assembler in NP? Other than Empire/SMC international?

I bought Cabby and Graphics card from them.

For the gaming i would suggest you to buy Xbox360's Controller for Windows.

detice,a core2 will outperform the X2 by quite a margin.if ur getting a X2 atleast get the 4400+.

also dont go for Dynet ram,its pathetic.get Kingston or Transcend atleast,it's just 200-300 Rs more.

you got a very good config there but i would suggest not to go for the amd currently but to opt for Core2-Duo ....it is fast and i mean fast....Amd wont be coming out with its new proessors soon and even if they get them out by july-august...they are going to cost you a bomb....
Cheers.

the lowest c2d and the 3600+ performance differnce is not so big if one plans not to overclock.....but the price differnce is very much....
