MTNL's plan is pretty good. 1500 per month for 250 GB data at 10 mbps (5 mbps upload).

Just sent a request to Airtel Bangalore for a plan change to the following:
Rapid 1199 60 GB (Up to 16 Mbps/512 Kbps)

My current plan is Special 1099 8Mbps 60 GB.
For 100 bucks more, I will be getting access double speed. Lets see.

Is this the plan that costs approx 2200 per month ?

Yes its the one. Usually this plan gives a user about 80GB data but Airtel called me this month saying that they would give me about 50GB extra per month because I have an Airtel TV, mobile plan and broadband. I believe they are in the process of changing this plan cause I have been getting calls to upgrade to 200 GB per month. So till I stick with my current plan I will have 130 GB per month

I am on the same plan. Noticed total data of 120 GB @ http://www.airtel.in/smartbyte-s/page.html. Looks like Airtel gave extra data to everyone on this plan since new plans are significantly cheaper.

I shifted to 1600 plan that gives 100 GB @ 8 mbps.

Thanks for the update mate. I shall call them and find out about these new plans. Though no amount of data is too much for me, I would probably downgrade too after updating my system to Win10 this month. Asked a friend he said he has been given 120 per month so looks like everyone is getting it. And to think that they called and told me "exclusive phar you saar":deadhorse

Wow. This is awesome. It sure must be tempting to have more than 75 Gb as the bandwidth limit with such a good latency ?
They have fiber optical connections in Gurgaon too but sadly my society does not have the network infrastructure to support it.

As with all services there will be some happy customers and some disgruntled ones. I have never faced an issue with ACT. It never falls below 15 Mbps and unless I check with speedtest I'll never really know the difference. I stream content of my Apple TV in HD for a few hours at least a couple of times a week. I purchase 3-4 movies a month on iTunes and I stream a ton of music of apple music. Plus lots of browsing, social media apps and of course the various software updates that seems to be growing in size every week. I'm yet to come anywhere near my download limit.

An attractive feature from ACT is that only downloads use up your allowance and uploads remain unaccounted.

ACT has been working well (touch wood) for the last couple of years. I pay annually and get an additional 2 months + extra 20GB/month.
So in effect, I pay Rs.1350 per month (including taxes) and get 100GB @ 50mbps. The speeds have been consistent through out, around 6MBps.

In our case they have setup a hub in the apartment complex and gives FTH connections to individual flats.

Yikes, ACT is really expensive in Chennai.

I get ACT 100 mbps, 125GB download at ₹2000 + taxes per month in Bangalore. Great latency too.

This is a good point Samurai. I need to call ACT and enquire about this.

From this afternoon, we are enjoying BSNL BBG SPEED COMBO ULD 1091 CS70 costing ₹ 1,091 [+ taxes - 10% discount applicable for retired government staff] per month both for landline and Broadband combo comprising 8 Mbps for 60 GB and 512 kbps beyond without free calls in Bangalore. :)

Bangalore seems to be getting the best rates for broadband internet, even Airtel gives better speed, when compared to other metros. I think its competition at work!! ACT has just started expanding its reach, and I hope, soon the price war starts and they would come with similar plans. The FUP remains the same.

You might need to check with Customer service, I recently switched to ACT and pay 1999+taxes for 60 Mbps and 125GB.

For my Mumbai home, I moved the plan to Airtel Rapid 999. This provide 8mbps (16 mbps is not available in my area) and 30GB free. This is way better than the earlier plan which had 2mbps speed at Rs.1049/- and 30GB free. Initial reports from my folks are that the speed is good and as promised.

Initially Airtel sent me an excel sheet which had the same plan rentals with differing speeds. i.e. 30GB download costing Rs.999/- irrespective of speed (4 mbps or 8mbps or 16 mbps)

For my Bangalore home, the 1199/- 16mbps plan is working well. Am getting 15.XX mbps download speed when testing through speedtest to Gurgaon servers
